Aug. '18- Week 1- Alice Rice Cereal, Lagoon Day!, Mantua Swimming with Friends, FHE with Sis. Turley

Wednesday we cleaned up and left camp by 10:30. We unloaded at home, showered, and did lots of laundry! Anna and Bethany felt the need to immediately get fancy.  :)
At dinner we gave Alice rice cereal for the first time!  There was no gagging! And McKenna did her hair like Agnus from Despicable Me.

We also got out the play mat and she loved it!
Thursday was our annual LAGOON day with Dan's dad's work!  We forgot our tickets at home so we got there a little later than we wanted.
I'm so proud of Anna for being so daring and brave this year!  She went on a ton of rides and helped Bethany buckle and get in and out of rides as well.
McKenna and Ben were also so brave and both went on Colossus, and Ben went on Cannibal!
There was also an awesome thunderstorm on the way home!

Friday we watched Henry, Clara, Charlie, and Hazel for a bit.
Alice turned 5 months!
I worked on writing school supply shopping lists.  We did yard work in the evening.

Saturday Dan went rowing. I went to my cousins Marianne's baby shower. Alice had a slight fever. :(  I went to lunch with all the Webster adult girls and the new Black Bear Diner.  Then I took McKenna, Anna, and Bethany for back to school haircuts.
Alice loving the baby in the mirror and it's so funny when she notices there were two moms.
Sunday there was a stake fast for Grandpa.  It was so sweet and powerful at the same to time to hear of people praying for him and his healing! We had Grandma and Adam over for dinner that night (German pancakes) and I took McKenna with me to stake choir practice.

Monday we had a friends swim day at Mantua!
That evening Geri Turley came over for FHE to have a Family History experience with us.  She told us to choose an ancestor we wanted to learn more about and she was do the research for us.  We chose to learn about Else Katherine Andersen Christensen, after whom who we named our Alice Katherine.  It was wonderful to hear about her life story.  She converted to the Gospel when she was around 16, became a governess, migrated to Zion, escaping cholera, married a son in the family she migrated with and nannied for, had 11 children, felt prompted to become a midwife and delivered hundreds of babies!  His son Albert is Dan's great grandpa.  We had Dutch apple pie as a treat since she was from Denmark.

Tuesday Desi and Henry Alexander came to play, we went through uniform stuff, did laundry, had the van's oil changed, and I had book club that night at Kylee's about "Gift of Imperfection" by Brene Brown.  We talked about how to find the balance of accepting who we are but also it's being ok to try to improve ourselves.
