April '24- Week 1- Spring Break in St. George, I flew home for Choir, Tabernacle Organ, General Conference,

st- Monday: I exercised from 7-8, we ate breakfast, I showered, and Dan secured things in the trailer. We finished packing and loading up and left by 10:45. We made a few stops for gas and fixing the tarps along the way. I read, worked on some music, and napped the whole drive. We got to the Airbnb a little before 4pm. We unloaded, looked around, and organized who would sleep where as best we could. The men folk went shopping for groceries. Alice went swimming with other cousins. We had a later dinner (tacos), and celebrated Oliver’s BD. We hung out and talked. We got everyone to bed around 10-11.  This week is gonna be so fun!

nd- Tuesday: We woke up around 7:15. All the teens ate and I went with them to the St. George Temple to do baptisms. Brian and Grandma and Grandpa came too. It’s such a beautiful temple and very busy for Spring Break. Grandpa took us out for ice cream after. We got back to the house around 11. Kids were swimming and playing outside lots. We had lunch and everyone kept doing their own things. I left for the airport around 2:30. It’s such a fast flight to Salt Lake! Autumn Cundick was nice enough to pick me up from the airport!  I hurried and showered and ate and left for choir school. We talked about facial expressions and how to look pleasant on camera.  We did some practice with Joseph filming us and then we watched ourselves and said what we could do better next time. I learned I need to practice not getting distracted by the camera men. I talked to Dan once I got home. I had a hard time falling asleep.

rd- Wednesday: I woke up naturally a little before 8. I read and then exercised and ate. I started cleaning the kitchen so I could mop. It’s always a much bigger project than I anticipate!  I basically cleaned the upstairs from 11-3!  I ate lunch and then went outside to do yard work from 4:15-7. My body was tired!! The idea was being home alone for two days, I would work hard one day, and relax the other day (tomorrow). I came in and soaked in the tub for a bit. I talked with Dan.  I ate apples, peanut butter, and popcorn for dinner since I had such a late lunch. I read more of my book. It was such a productive day by myself. I loved not having a schedule to stick to and still getting so much done! In St. George, the dudes went golfing...

th- Thursday: I slept till 8. I paused my news, and then got back in bed and read. I watched the news and ate. Then I worked on a grocery order. I ate lunch and then showered. I worked on music a bit, Dan called, and then I left to pick up Joe from the airport. He was flying in from CA with friends. I talked with him a lot about the Tabernacle Choir on the drive home because he kept asking questions.  :) I dropped him at home, ate, and then my dad picked me up and took me to the Tabernacle for choir.  I studied a little with Amber. Once Choir School started, we worked on the three tour pieces that have “choreography” and clapping in them.  We finished the night with a tour of the Tabernacle organ. We went behind the pipes again and also got to play a hymn on it.  I messed up, but it was still so cool!  Krystal took me to the airport after and I flew back to St. George that night. I read my book the whole way.  Dan picked me up from the airport. We talked and snuggled and got to bed late.

th- Friday: I went running with McKenna around 8:30am. We did 2.15 miles around the block a few times. We ate and hung out. I eventually showered and everyone kind of did their own thing. We had lunch, then kids started swimming.  It always felt too cold for me to swim. All the adult girls went to get massages at this cool place that can do 16 people at a time, fully clothed. Dan picked me up from there and we went and visited President and Sister Clove!  They’re now 80 and 78 and doing very well!  We got back to the house around 5:30. Brynn was making homemade pizza. We all ate and Alice was still swimming. After dinner, we worked on cleaning up and packing. Dan loaded the trailer. Alice went to bed around 8:30. The other kids played Quiplash and the adults and McKenna played 5 Crowns.  Dave and Laurie were at Andrew’s swim meet. We all went to bed by 11 ish.

th- Saturday: We ate and loaded up and left by 10:05!  We listened to the first session of General Conference on the road. We filled up in Cedar City, and had lunch at Burger King in Fillmore. We listened to the second session and made it home right as it was ending at 4pm. We unloaded and I cleaned the van a little. Dan took the trailer back to his parents’. McKenna and Ben showered. I took Alice with me to get groceries and gas in Dan’s car.  We continued to unload and unpack and do laundry. We had leftovers for dinner, then we listened to the evening session. I love that we didn’t even have to ask or encourage the kids to set up their spots for listening to conference this time. They did it all on their own. Bethany spent a lot of time reading the Friend magazines and doing scripture activities from them. The three girls had showers and baths, and then we got them to bed.  McKenna went to Adrie’s house for a bit.  I read my book some, and Alice was up late.

th- Sunday: We started breakfast around 9. We folded laundry during Music and the Spoken Word. We enjoyed the morning session together. McKenna curled her and Bethany’s hair. We all finished getting ready and had lunch and then left for the afternoon session in person. We dropped Alice off at the Jensen’s. Grandfather gave a wonderful talk about the restoration of the priesthood and the importance of temples. He announced 15 new temples!  I teared up at the end hearing the choir sing “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” to the global participants. We got home and I had a quick family call. We had French toast for dinner. We cleaned up and then watched Relative Race.  McKenna worked on a school assignment. We registered Ben for mountain biking.
