April ‘24- Week 2- Blossoms at Capitol, Chorale Rehearsals, Yard Work, Baseball,

th- Monday: I subbed in Ms. Huggard’s class. They were pretty good all day long!  I was able to see the partial solar eclipse around 12:30 when the kids went to PE. Once we got home, I went through papers with Bethany and Alice and kept laundry going. The kids did piano. I started prepping dinner. I took Ben to baseball, Anna to gymnastics, and Alice to music. McKenna stayed after for track. After dinner, we hurried downtown to walk around the Capitol and enjoy the blossoms!  It was a little cold but also a little less crowded. We packed lunches and folded laundry and got the girls to bed. Dan started watching The Martian. Dan and Ben lifted.

th- Tuesday: I took McKenna to her orthodontist appointment. She was a little disappointed about the timeline to get them off not being sooner!  Dan went to the Deseret Mills for a canning assignment. I exercised when I got home. I cooled down by freeing up storage on my phone (Dropbox and YouTube). I got dinner going in the crockpot. Dan briefly came home to get his car. I showered and then ate lunch. I napped and then made phone calls (gymnastics and dentist). The kids got home. McKenna stayed for track. I drove Ben to baseball, picked up McKenna, finished dinner prep, then took Anna and Bethany back to baseball. Alice went to her first soccer game with the Jensens. Ben got a base hit!  I took Anna home so she could go to Activity days.  It was good to be back for Chorale after two weeks off. Ryan was complimentary and said we sounded good!  I’m getting more and more excited for the concert next week!

th- Wednesday: I was able to work on some things on my to-do list once I got to school. I did morning recess duty, then lunch duty. I also did one hour in Ms. Dutcher’s class.  Anna and Bethany went to piano. I took Alice to the store for gifts for Briggz and Crosby, then we went to 5 Points Park and played for a bit. We also snacked on Nerd Cluster candy.  We picked up the girls. I got dinner in the crockpot and cleaned the kitchen a bit. I napped. The girls watched shows. Anna tried to play with Desi, but she was sick. I picked up McKenna from track. Ben went to Taggart’s after his piano lesson. We all ate together. Ben and McKenna went to their church activity, which was a General Conference recap game. Ben said he remembered more than he thought he would.  Dan and I worked on cleaning out the shed.  The girls jumped on the tramp.  Bethany and Alice showered. After the girls were in bed, Dan and Ben lifted and I tried to work on the three of the choir tour songs. I realized I need more help learning them. Dan and Ben and I finished watching The Martian.

th- Thursday: I helped Dan take the van to Burt Bros for new tires. I exercised, ate, and showered. I worked on a grocery order, reading my book, and doing picture collages. I also napped. The three girls got ice cream from Kelly Kump on the way home from school. Ben had baseball, Bethany had gymnastics, McKenna had piano, and Alice went to a birthday party in Draper.  I made dinner and then went to choir and was almost late because of the Jazz game traffic.  Our teachers went over what to study for our final written test and everyone was stressing a lot!  We also read through all of the pieces we’ll sing in our first broadcast, which was very helpful.  *I’m mostly feeling ok about everything, but I know that I have to put in a lot of time to memorize now!  Dan and I picked up the van and returned the Audi to his parents’ house.

th- Friday: I subbed in Kindergarten as Ms. Huggard’s instructor. I did the reading and math groups and recess and lunch duty. After my lunch, I went to Mrs. Dutcher’s class. They were great! Once we got home, Dan and I had a chat with Anna about some friend drama again. Poor girl! I took Ben to baseball practice and picked up McKenna from Nielsen’s where she was with friends.  We all weeded in the yard for about an hour and half.  The weather was perfect!  Dan picked up Ben and pizza for dinner. We ate and McKenna went to Caroline’s. I worked on music and Dan watched a movie with the three girls. Ben watched his own thing and wasn’t feeling well. We got the girls to bed and I talked with Claire’s mom about the girls drama, which helped a little. I talked with McKenna once she got home.

th- Saturday: I had Chorale rehearsal from 9:30-11:30. It was so fun to be singing IN the Tabernacle and see tourists coming in and out. I hoped they enjoyed the songs as much as we did.   I picked up groceries and got gas on the way home. Dan went to the dump and picked up some mulch. He and the kids made great progress spreading it in the beds! I had lunch, then went outside to help Dan finish the last of the loads of mulch. McKenna was a rockstar and weeded the longest! Desi came over to play. Ben had baseball practice. Dan also took Ben to get some new church clothes and shorts. I came in and rested and read my book for a bit. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse as a thank you to the kids for helping.  McKenna went to Adrie’s. The rest of us came home and did showers and baths. Once the girls were in bed, I practiced singing. Dan and Ben watched a show.

th- Sunday: We went to church and it was Fast and Testimony meeting. Relief Society was all about ministering.  We watched our videos when we got home. Dan and I napped. I read my book. We went for a walk with the younger four. McKenna talked on the front porch for a while with Brittana. We had a Nelson Zoom call to recap General Conference. Grandfather looked so great! We had dinner. We watched the live action Aladdin. I had a zoom study group with my choir school friends. I started having a scratchy throat and was freaking out a bit. Dan gave me a priesthood blessing and I felt a little better mentally. He also gave McKenna and blessing because she was very stressed about her end of year testing and track meets!  Dan and Ben played games (Battleship and Sequence). I got ready for bed earlier than normal, hoping my body would heal!
