th- Monday: My voice could talk mostly "ok" when I woke up. But by 2pm, because I was subbing and teaching all day, my voice was on it’s way out! I was so sad about that! I tried not to talk the rest of the afternoon and evening around my family. I put myself on strict vocal rest! Anna and Bethany had gymnastics. Alice had Let’s Play Music. Ben played Fortnite. McKenna had her first track meet and killed it! Her results were- 1600M 5th place out of 52 (6:30.25 minutes), 800M 9th place out of 57 (3:01.23 minutes), 4X400 relay 2nd place out of 10 (5:08.76 minutes). Dan was wonderful and stayed and watched her the whole time in the cold and rain! I had another study session for Tab Choir over Zoom.
th- Tuesday: I was still careful with my voice most of the day. It was obviously more difficult to be quite when the kids got home from school and I had to give instructions to them. I spent most of the morning texting the choir medical staff and Sora, telling her I can’t work the rest of the week due to not being able to talk. I cleaned the fish bowl and made rice to use in dinner. I showered and napped and wrote some emails. I ate lunch and then left to buy chicken at the store. I started dinner. I took Ben to baseball. Dan got home and took all the girls to baseball while I finished up at home. I took a dinner portion to Donna Jarvis. After being at baseball for a bit, I took McKenna and Alice to Alice’s soccer game. I left from there to go to choir. Dan took all the kids home and took down Christmas lights from the tree, and also messed with the seats in the van. *I felt very blessed that I had no other “cold like” symptoms, so I was able to attend chorale rehearsal and just lip sync. It was good to finally hear the orchestra with our pieces. I also know my voice made significant improvements from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.
th- Wednesday: I did not work, so I was able to watch my news and see McKenna and Ben for a bit because they had late start. I showered, put Easter decorations away, and tidied the basement. I sat for about 15mins, then I picked up Emmy Johnson from preschool. She had a snack, and then we hung out in the basement. We had lunch and then picked up the LPA kids. They were all excited the seats in the van were turned around to face each other. Beth and Anna had piano. Alice and Emmy played. I napped. I picked up the girls from piano and they helped me deliver the three sets of tickets for my Chorale concert. I read and finished my book club book while the girls had screen time. I took Ben to Luke’s house after his piano. I took Alice to her new gymnastics time. I picked up McKenna from track. I made dinner. I had Chorale rehearsal and I only lip synced it again. No singing, to try to save my voice for the concert this weekend. I truly think it was been miraculous that this virus hasn’t gotten worse, and I can still attend rehearsal! Dan delivered fliers for some ward activities. McKenna and Ben had a missionary activity that was a combined building activity.
th- Thursday: I watched the news after everyone left. I ate and then decided to clean a little. I made some texts, worked on an Instagram post, worked on a grocery order, and napped. I showered and ate lunch. I worked on music! I was able to sing lightly and go over my choir school material. The kids got home from school and I kept studying. We had leftovers for dinner. I took Ben to Backstage to see The Little Mermaid. I went to choir for our last chorale rehearsal. I was able to sing lightly, which felt great. However, I did have one coughing fit. I’m excited for the concert and still think it’s a miracle I didn’t get sicker!
th- Friday: I’m so thankful I did not work today. I needed another day to rest my voice for sure! I exercised and ate, then I worked on texts and emails and napped. I showered, ate lunch and worked on music. Ben auditioned for Madrigals (and made it!) and had baseball. McKenna stayed after for track. Bethany and Anna got to check out early and go with Swa and a bunch of cousins to the children’s museum for Ellie’s birthday. I snuggled Alice and picked kids up. I finished my hair and makeup for my Chorale concert and left at 5. I changed and we had a warm-up on stage. Then we had about an hour to chill while the Orchestra performed before we had to go on stage. Unfortunately I had a couple coughing attacks before going on, so I didn’t feel like it was my best quality singing, but I did what I could. I also had a lot of nerves and adrenaline, so that affected my singing as well. Thankfully, the choir as a whole sounded so good! Elder Soares attended and the kids got to meet him since they sat in the same row and he knew grandma Sibber who was also there. I'm so grateful for my family cheerleaders who could attend!
th- Saturday: We slept in! I took Ben to film club and Anna to the store to pick out a gift for Rose. We put groceries away and I showered quickly before heading to get my hair trimmed with Sara Stewart. McKenna and Dan took care of mowing and edging the yard. The boys in the prom group took care of cleaning the van (Ethan West, Tanner Kump, Tanner Remington, and Sam Moulton)! I cleaned up lunch and then took Ben and Anna to Backstage to see The Little Mermaid again. Dan met with the Moulton’s nephew to talk about social work. I tried to nap and relax some. McKenna did homework. Bethany and Alice played with the Moulton girls. Dan shaved his head and face. He also picked up Ben and Anna and took Anna to Rose’s BD party. I did my hair and make-up, made mac and cheese. McKenna fed the rest of the kids while I left for another Chorale concert. Dan left to chauffeur some ward kids to prom! McKenna also had a movie night at the Hunter’s. Ben babysat and then played Fortnite with friends over the phone.
st- Sunday: I lead the music and Dan gave the closing prayer in Sacrament meeting. Dan and I got to sit by each other in Sunday school. We ate a quick lunch and then Dan and I went to Evan Spencer’s mission farewell. He did a great job and it was awesome to support Ryan and Bethany. We napped once we got home, unfortunately I woke up coughing a lot. McKenna made a chocolate cake for Lizzy Mitchel who had to miss prom with Sam Moulton because she was sick. I had my family call. Dan helped me make dinner. McKenna enjoyed reading outside in the back patio. We watched Relative Race after dinner. After kids were in bed, Dan helped me with dinner prep for Monday since the evening would be super busy. I’m very grateful for his help and to have it done!!
