April ‘24- Week 4- Alice Soccer, First Choir Rehearsal in Loft, McKenna track meet, Shrek at Legacy, First Broadcast!,

nd- Monday: I subbed in Ms. A’s 6th grade class. They were so good and quiet for most of the day. They did their work!  I helped them the most with math. They got a little rowdy during the virtual field trip about water conservation.  Bethany’s class cleaned up the playground for Earth Day.  I listened to my choir music while the 6th grade was at prep.  Once we got home, I changed the laundry and then left to pick up McKenna from an AP study group and take her to track at the high school.  Then I stopped at the store real quick and to pick up Dan’s keys from Burt Bros. We thought he needed new breaks as well, but he did not, thankfully! I took Ben to baseball, Bethany and Anna to gymnastics (even though Anna said she had a stomach ache), and I attended music with Alice.  Dan went to Ben’s baseball game, which they won!  We all made it home for dinner around 6:30. We folded laundry.  We got the kids to bed and the boys lifted weights. Dan and I picked up his car. I put my laundry away and practiced songs.

rd- Tuesday: I went back to bed for a bit after the kids left. I did arms downstairs, then ran outside. I ate and showered. I listened to my choir songs.  I did some texts and phone calls and napped. I ate lunch. I and studied for my choir test. The kids got home. Anna went home with Claire to hang out. McKenna had another test review and track. I picked up Anna and we all ate. McKenna babysat for the Chadwick’s. Anna had Activity Days and made a terrarium. Alice had soccer and Lindsay Jensen sent me the picture with Alice laying on the ground. :) Dan was in Park City for work for two days and nights. I had my written choir school test that night and I think I did ok and well enough to pass!  We also talked through what to expect for our first broadcast. I talked to Dan once I got home.

th- Wednesday: I did morning recess duty, then I bounced around to 7 different classes. Mrs. Barnes had meetings with those teachers to follow up with them about their observations (Ziel, Enquist, Loose, Huggard, Welch, Hallaq, Jacobs). I did not get a lunch break, but I just ate once we got home. Kaysen came home with us to have a play date with Alice.  I napped while the girls were at piano. I practiced choir music. I took Kaysen home and Alice to gymnastics. We ate when everyone got home. The girls had showers and went to bed. McKenna and Ben did a yard clean up service project for Donna Jarvis for their youth activity. We talked to Dan. I helped McKenna study for her health test.

th- Thursday: I drove the girls to school. I exercised, ate, and showered. I napped and did things on my phone (Marco polo, Teams, Instagram, practice music, enter Taylor Swift giveaways). I ate lunch and worked on the blog. Once the kids got home, I was prepping dinner. I took Bethany to Activity Days, picked up McKenna from her study group, and then took Ben to baseball. I got dinner in the oven and cut up fruit. I ate and then got ready for choir. It was going to be my first night rehearsing with the big choir upstairs in the loft! Anna said her stomach hurt again. Bethany and Alice went with Zaza to play in Donna Jarvis’s yard. We spent the first half of choir rehearsal doing the songs for Sunday’s broadcast, then we worked on other pieces I didn’t even have music for. I felt good about my sight reading mostly because I could listen to everyone around me singing the piece well, so could copy them. My seat neighbors were so helpful and encouraging in general also. It was lovely! They gave me copies of their music when I didn’t have the piece. Dan went to the end of Ben’s baseball game, which they won!  He also went to DI and found him new cleats.

th- Friday: I subbed as Ms. Huggard’s instructor. I did two reading groups and a math group. Every recess was inside due to rain. I worked a little on a grocery order during prep. I took Alice to the store once we got home, to buy a gift for Scarlett and veggies for a veggie tray. I chilled for a little bit once we got home. Dan and McKenna got home from the track meet. McKenna got 5th out of 30 for the mile and PRed at 6:15!  She got 7th out of 40 in the 800 and got 2:52. It was cold and rainy again, so she and Dan were such champs!  We cleaned and prepped for hosting the young adults. Only the Wests, Daines, and Jensens were able to come. McKenna went to Lucas’s house. We got kids to bed by 9:45. I finished our grocery order. I watched funny videos with McKenna. We got so much rain! We also found out that Bethany progressed from beginner to intermediate gymnastics.

th- Saturday: We had a slow morning. Dan picked up his parents from the airport. I showered and left for a baby shower for Abby Nelson, Dan's cousin Gavin’s wife. It was great to see some of the Nelson cousins and Aunts!  I took Anna and Bethany to see Shrek at Legacy. Claire, Yaritza, and Oakley were in it and did so great! Anna went home with Claire after.  Dan got groceries and tried to work on fixing the kitchen sink faucet. Alice went to a birthday party for Scarlett. McKenna and Ben got in trouble for fighting. Dan and I did sealings at the Jordan River Temple and went to dinner at a pizza place. McKenna needed to talk about some drama involving another girl and a guy she likes after her friend hang out. :(

th- Sunday: *First Music and the Spoken Word Broadcast! I got up at 5:30 after having stressful dreams about being late to choir. I made it with plenty of time to change and be in my seat by 7:25.  We rehearsed a few parts of songs, there's an opening message/thought from a member of the choir presidency, then a full run through of the MSW program. During the run through, Mac points to a general area of the choir to let you know you are on camera so you know when to really shine!  During the break, I put on lip stick, went outside for a minute, went to the restroom, and then turned in music.  When I got back to my seat, I saw Dan, Adam, and the kids right across from me seated in the balcony!  The broadcast went very well and I felt the spirit the most during “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands.”  I felt it in the sense like, "He’s got your back, He's got you!"  I was also thankful for a little hand squeeze from my seat neighbor, Sandey.  We had a brief Alto 2 meeting with our section leaders afterwards. I found out one of which was in the Mt. Pleasant Ward in VA for about 5 years and she knew some of the same people I did! I also saw Faye Wade and her sons as they were leaving the broadcast!  After I changed, I met Amber’s family. I drove straight to stake conference after that where our new stake presidency was being sustained. Chad Gardner, Joe Cowley, and Dave Moulton! So now our ward would need a new Bishop! We had lunch and then napped. I had my family call and then we had Webster Family dinner to celebrate April BDs. Ben and I made a money display thing for Ollie to buy V-bucks with. We got the kids to bed and Alice said her throat hurt. I watched the broadcast and then listened to my new songs for the week.

th- Monday: I did not work like I usually do on Mondays. I drove the girls to school, then exercised, then ate and showered. I had phone time in there too, but then from 12:15-1:15, I worked on learning my new choir songs. I ate lunch and then listened to the following week’s songs. I napped. The kids got home from school. Alice still wasn’t feeling great. I took McKenna from her AP study group to WX for track. I picked up a prescription. I took the girls to gymnastics and music. I made dinner and we ate around 6:30. We folded laundry and packed lunches.  We watched the Book of Mormon video with King Benjamin’s speech. *I really felt the Spirit testify that these events really happened!  We got the kids to bed and I worked on music more.  McKenna did homework and Ben watched a show while Dan worked.

th- Tuesday: I did not work again. I ate breakfast and watched the news. I got dressed and took McKenna shopping at Target for a few things. I dropped her off at school and stayed to help with the 9th grade mock interviews. I met some cool kids and had fun seeing lots of McKenna’s friends. I had lunch and worked on music when I got home. I napped. I went to the temple to do Initiatories.  I got home the same time as the kids. I showered and helped Bethany with her book report. McKenna got home from track. After dinner, Dan took the 4 younger kids to Alice’s soccer game. McKenna stayed home to study. I went to my last night of choir school!! We had our small group singing assessment. Mack and Ryan came in to listen to us sing hymn #121, Lean on My Ample Arm.  They asked us to sing it a few times and few different ways.  They both spoke to us about the demands of the choir and welcomed us officially into the choir!! They cautioned us not to become complacent. They thanked us for our sacrifice and our families back at home. They even gave us refreshments afterwards!  I talked with Dan after I got home.
