22nd- Wednesday: I subbed in Kindergarten in Ms. Lee’s class. We got to watch Ms. Enquist’s class and Ms. Loose’s class practice their programs. There were quite a few kids absent and with the half day kids leaving, I ended the day with only 18 kids. Bethany had a times table ice cream party at school. Anna had some strong feelings after school and before piano. She was not as happy with her talent show performance with Claire. We brought Walker Nelson home with us. He and Alice played well together. I worked on finishing mending and patching clothes. We picked up the girls from piano. I tried to nap, but got woken up by Walker leaving. I worked on a grocery order, then picked up Ben. I had to run to the store for some final ingredients. Bethany and Alice came with me. I started dinner in the instant pot. Bethany cleaned the girls’ bathroom toilet! McKenna hung out at Caroline’s house and they shaved their friend Grant’s head. Ben ate and went to church for his YM planning meeting and activity. The rest of us ate and then we cleaned up. Bethany and Anna and Alice have been working on their back bend kick overs. Dan got home kind of late. I finished sorting Alice’s clothes. Dan revealed he ordered a giant gorilla for our yard for my birthday! Once the little kids were in bed, I practiced my music.
23rd- Thursday: This was McKenna and Ben's LAST DAY of school! Dan drove the girls to school, then we went to the temple for an endowment session! It was a lovely way to start my birthday. The family name I did was from Grandma Jeanne’s side of the family and the worker at the veil reminded me of Grandpa Dave. It was sweet to be reminded of and feel my Thompson grandparents. We had to fix the giant gorilla when we got home because it had gotten knocked down by the wind. We went to lunch at Firehouse subs. We went to the school for Alice’s kindergarten program! Her class did such a good job. I got teary on the last song “1st Grade, 1st Grade!” We had refreshments and then Dan and I went to Costco. We got McKenna and we went to the Verizon store to see about ordering her a new phone. I napped. Anna went to play with Desi and they went to shop at Indy Clover. 24th- Friday: I subbed for Ms. Welch. We cleaned out desks and lockers. The kids worked on a memory book. We had lunch outside and then got ready for Field Day. We rotated through 14 stations for 2.5 hours. The kids were pretty ok as far as behavior goes. I was grateful it wasn't too hot! Once we got home, I had the girls start cleaning out their backpack. The backpack "explosion" is always fun. Dan and I napped on the couch. I went to dinner with Rachael Alexander. We went to Zupas and had a good time catching up. We had a little cul de sac party celebrating my 40th with popsicles, Oreos, red vines and other treats. The weather was not ideal since it was kind of cold and rainy. But people stuck around. We probably had about 40 people come and I felt very loved! *I’ve slowly been reading a book Dan gave me of memories and kind words about me from friends and loved ones. What a precious gift! I has made me reflect about what I would say about each of them as well. I’m mostly grateful people mentioned attributes and qualities about me that I hope I always show and am remembered for.
25th- Saturday: We slept in till 8:00 and woke up to rain and the giant gorilla being gone. It was picked up by the guy we rented it from. Dan left to help Tanner and Marianna West move, which are quite sad about. I fed the three girls and we got started putting our house back in order. Mostly cleaning the laundry room, kitchen counter, and the family room. I had to go through Alice’s paper’s because there were just too many! Everyone else did their own. Ben slept till 12! Dan took McKenna driving to run errands: pick up groceries, stop by the library, and make an Amazon return. She even had to drive in the rain and reverse parked in the garage. The two things I had planned (a pedicure with Mickelle and a birthday date with Dan’s parents) both got moved to another day. It was actually really nice to be home all day and be productive! We also napped a little. Alice got to play at Meg’s. McKenna watched a movie. We did laundry and an "art museum" showing the three girls’ school art. After dinner, we went for a walk. Dan and I finished the "Barbie" movie after the girls were in bed. McKenna hung out with Adrie.

Once we got home, I watched the broadcast, ate lunch, and we watched our Come Follow Me videos. Dan and I napped and packed. We left for Mantua around 3:10 and I had my call on the road. Once we got to Mantua, we chilled and hung out. We had ribs for dinner and celebrated May birthdays! After dinner, I made some texts, finished a grocery order, and organized my choir songs in the voice memos. We got the kids to bed around 10. Ben and the boy cousins decided to sleep on the tramp. I got to bed by 11:30/12.

I also paid our lunch money balance and turned in my work laptop. I helped clean in the music room, then I cleaned the tops of lockers. After school, I went to the teacher lunch and awards! It was fun to cheer on the people who won. Ms. Enquist got teacher of the year! I went to Walmart to pick up groceries and get a few things inside as well. Luke came over to hang out with Ben. McKenna was sweet and took the girls to the Jarvis’s and jumped on the tramp with them. I put groceries away and then napped a little in my chair. I talked with Jeanne a bit once she picked up Luke. The kids helped me clean and put things in order before Emily and her kids came. They got here around 6:30 and we gave them a tour. We had spaghetti and then went for a walk! The weather was great! Once they all left, my put the kids to bed and watched Dan’s work press conference. *Governor Cox held a press conference calling for more foster parents!
29th- Wednesday: LPA’s last day of school! Dan helped me decorate the van for the last day carpool!! I helped in the office and wiped down more shelves. I went to the final assembly in the elementary gym. They gave awards and watched a slide show. The kids signed yearbooks. I was in and out of the office. I ate school lunch and cleaned a little more. Once we got home, it was a bit of a rush to set up for our kid party. I set up the music, table, canopy, and some chairs. Meghan set up her water slide and and snow cone machine. The weather was in the mid 70s, but it got a little windy. Kelsey, our cousin, came too. Kaitlyn went to the park and YWs with McKenna. Ben had a baseball game in the evening, which they won!
30th- Thursday: McKenna had an orthodontist appointment, I dropped her off at Dan’s work. I went to Orem with my mom and sisters for a pedicure. There was lots of waiting which made me kind of feel like I was wasting time, but it was still fun. I took a little walk with Emily and got snacks. Later, we all went to the new Layton Temple open house! it was beautiful! We came back to my house for dinner, then I left for choir. Jonathan flew in that evening. Bethany had Activity Days at the Pugsley's. They all came downtown to rehearsal and were still at my house when I got home.
31st- Friday: I exercised and went to Costco. Ben went biking with Henry and Truman. After lunch, I got dinner going in the crock pot. Alice went to her friend Theo’s birthday party. After that, we went to a park with Grandma Pat since we would not have all fit very well in her basement. Kari and Justin arrived! we had dinner at our house again. Ben and I went to baseball. McKenna helped the girls pack. Dan had a work event. We prepped food, made a birthday banner for Grandpa Mike and packed for our Yellowstone/Glacier trip!
