May ‘24- Week 1- McKenna Track Meet x2, Grandpa Mike's work Open House, Anniversary, Kate in Seussical, Piano Recital, Book Club,

st- Wednesday: I helped in the office for a bit, then did 20mins each in Young, Lee, and Voss while they had follow-ups with Ms. Barnes. I spent from 10:30 to the rest of the day in Anna’s class. The girls went to piano after school. I napped and then went to McKenna’s track meet. Unfortunately, I missed her mile because they were running very ahead of schedule. I sat and waited and hour and half for her to run the 800. She did great in both!  She got 7th out of 43 in the mile with a 6:15.73 time.  And she got 8th out of 50 in the 800m with a 2:54.58.  Dan ran Ben to baseball and Alice to gymnastics and started dinner for me.  We all ate and then the older two left for YM/YW.  Desi came over to hang out with Anna. Bethany and Alice had showers. I worked on a grocery order and music.  Dan watched a show and lifted with Ben.  *Anna's class made a thank you banner for the principal.

nd- Thursday: I subbed in 1st grade in Mrs. Mortensen's class. They were more talkative than I expected, so the day was a little rough. When we got home, the girls changed, we carpooled with my mom and Mickelle and went to my dad’s office to their open house. We got to see the new space and eat yummy food. Dan dropped me off at the Tabernacle for choir. We met with our section leaders and then headed upstairs. I was less nervous this time and I recorded a lot on my phone to help my practice! Mack officially welcomed the new members into the choir! What a journey! I also saw we had “special guests” come and visit and sing with the choir. Apparently you can invite a guest or two to come sing with the choir for the evening. I talked with Dan once I got home.

rd- Friday: I covered for Ms. Forbes reading group in first grade. I also subbed in Mrs. Adair’s two math classes for 4th and 3rd grade. I had a little free time in the afternoon so I listened to my music. Dan had the van all day so he could get a load of mulch, so he picked us up. We also got courtesy cones for all the carpool girls!  I napped once we got home. Dan put together the new bike rack for the car. McKenna went to track. We went to Olive Garden to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary with the kids!  McKenna went to Backstage with Lucy to see Legally Blonde. We played at 5 Points Park for a bit. We watched our wedding video once we got home and then got the girls to bed.  Dan and Ben watched a show and I worked on music and scrolled.

th- Saturday: We went to the ward service project helping ward members clean up their yards.  Our family mostly worked at the Inman’s, Jarvis’s, and Twitchel’s.  We had a pot luck lunch at the Gordon’s afterwards. The weather was perfect!  Ben also had baseball practice in the middle of all that. We came home around 1:30 and started working on our own yard, weeding, mulching, and mowing. It looked so good when we were done and the kids were awesome helpers!! McKenna studied for her AP test.  I got cleaned up and took the younger 4 for see Kate in Nemo and the Centerpoint Academy play.  She did awesome!  We got tacos on the way home.  Dan took McKenna driving to pick up groceries, then she went to Caroline’s house for a hang out. They played games at Tunnel Springs park. At home, we cleaned up the kitchen and laundry room and went through coats and jackets.  They all showered too.  After they were in bed, I worked on my music.

th- Sunday: I did not sleep well and my body hurt after yard work all day Saturday. The broadcast went well, though I got caught tapping with my hand during the run through during the organ solo. So he told me to stop. Since I was on the aisle, the seating manager had to ask me to not do that. I didn’t even realize I was doing it!  I think I was shown less on camera this week than last week, which was good. The Handel piece was the trickiest and I noticed a part I got the words wrong.  I was able to make it to the 5th ward to take and Sacrament, then I went home with my family when they were done with church. We watched the broadcast and the two girls ate, everyone else fasted. We made a birthday banner for Mickelle. We napped. We left for my setting apart and it was actually snowing!  The setting apart was very sweet! Pres. Leavitt was the one to do it. He asked for my story a little but and let Dan say a few words as well. He and Dan also made the Utah Foster Care connection. Once we got home, we started making dinner. We ate, celebrated Pickle's birthday, and went to the kids’ piano recital. They all played so well!  I worked on new music after kids were in bed.

th- Monday: I subbed in 1st grade in Ms. Laney’s class. They were better than I expected. I had a sore throat and headache most of the day though.  Once we got home, I started prepping dinner and helping the girls with their book reports. Dan was able to go to McKenna’s track meet where she qualified in the mile to go to the district track meet!  She got a 6th place in the mile and got a PR at 6:03.87. She took 12th in the 800m at 2:50.72.   I took the girls to gymnastics and went with Alice to music. We had a later dinner, folded laundry, and I went to book club at Rachael’s where we talked about “The Secret Diary of Brett Coulton.” Many of us happened to be watching outfits! I worked on music when I got home and then folded laundry.

th- Tuesday: I subbed in Ms. Huggard’s class. Her instructor was 3 hours late because she got stuck at the stopped train and couldn’t turn around due to the curb and other cars blocking her in. Thankfully, Mrs. Severson was able to be with Riot the whole time!  Once the kids went to lunch, I ate and got ready to teach JA in Bethany’s class. It went well, but two lessons back to back was a lot. I picked up McKenna and friends from Smith’s after her AP test. We both napped once we got home. I had a head ache. I talked with and snuggled and girls once they got home. The girls worked on their book reports. I prepped JA and South American stuff for Wednesday. We had leftovers for dinner. Anna had activity days. Both baseball and soccer were canceled due to weather. We played in the basement. Dan and Ben popped balloons with the darts. After the girls were in bed, I practiced music and I felt a lot better about things than the night before.
