June ‘24- Week 2- Rexburg, Emily's Birthday/Family pictures, Swimming, Smith's Left, McKenna FSY, Splash Pad, YM at Mantua,

th- Saturday: We woke up around 8 and got dressed. We ate Wendy’s breakfast in the car, then stopped at the Rexburg Temple to take some pictures.  We walked around BYU-I a bit so Emily could see her old stomping grounds. The Smiths were held up for a bit, we did handstand contests and partner challenges to kill time. We went in the student building, the library, and the science building. We left at 1 and drove to Brigham City to eat at Maddox on our way home. I sat in the back and let Ben sit in the front with dad to watch a show.  I napped and read. We also stopped at Layton park to check out a spot for family pictures. We picked up groceries, but it took forever!  We dropped McKenna off at the bowling alley to hang with friends on our way home. We got home and unloaded everything. The girls got going on unpacking their bags and showering. Ben helped me a lot with putting away food. We got the girls to bed by 9:45, finished unpacking, and got family picture outfits ready.

th- Sunday: I went to Tabernacle Choir but only observed since I missed Thursday.  One of the songs they sang, Sing!, was unreal! It was so good, the audience applauded even though they weren't supposed to! I made it to 5th ward Sacrament meeting no problem. I had a nice little chat with Karen Long before the meeting started.  I met my family afterwards and came home to get the girls ready for family pictures. We ate a little snack lunch and left for Layton around 11:45. We attended my parents Sacrament meeting to hear my dad sing in a group of 5 men “I Need Thee Every Hour.”  Then we headed to the park to have Rachael Alexander take our family pictures.  It was hot, but I think we got some nice shots. Justin had to leave right after that to fly home for work.  We headed to my parents’ house to chill for the afternoon. We napped and watched YouTube videos.  We had nuggets and fries for dinner with fruit and salad.  We watched the choir broadcast and then we celebrated Emily’s birthday!  We talked around the table while the kids played video games and hid in the squashmallows. We made it home a little before 9pm and got the kids to bed. McKenna worked on laundry and packing for FSY. I watched our 7th Ward Sacrament meeting and saw the new Bishopric called: Ed Pugsley, John Alexander, and Kevin Lemon.  I felt the Spirit confirm, even through the YouTube video, that Ed is supposed to be our Bishop!  I’m also very excited Ben will get to work with John in YMs come January!

th- Monday: I went running a little after 8. I ate with the four younger kids and we read a modern manner. The kids went out to weed while I took McKenna and Adrie to BYU for their week of FSY! They were nervous but excited. We got them all checked in and I found out she’s staying in Taylor Hall where I lived as a freshman at BYU! I left around 12 and listened to my choir music on the way home. I ate lunch and we got ready to head to the Winegar’s to swim!  Emily, my mom, and her three kids were a little late, but we had fun until 4:15. We came home and the girls changed for gymnastics. Swa picked up the boys and took them to their carpool for mountian biking ride.  I took the girls to the gym. I came home and made taco salad for dinner, while mom cut up fruit. We started eating without Mickelle, Jonathan, and Dan. They came later. Grandpa bought us ice cream sandwiches. Then we went to the theater room and watched “Harry and the Hendersons.” Dan and I talked as we folded laundry.

th- Tuesday: Dan and I went for a walk. From 8-9, I weeded. I ate breakfast with the kids and did a little Come Follow Me. They came out and weeded more. Ben went to hang out with Oliver. I tried to help Meghan with some car troubles. Anna and Bethany went to piano, even though Marilee and I forgot! I showered. The girls took care of their laundry.  We ate lunch, picked up Ben, got a carwash (finally after our road trip), got gas, then headed to Layton. I did some texts on my phone for the first bit. I felt like I was trying to play catch up since I haven’t had a lot of quiet alone time to think and do computer and phone stuff. We played Skyjo and Liverpool. I helped mom prep our baked potato dinner. Once dad got home, we ate. Dan came a little later and took Ben to his YMs activity, which was at the Layton Family History center. Mickelle and Emily and I watched a Try Guys video about colorguard! We said goodbye and goodnight to the Smiths as it was our last night together. We got the girls to bed and face timed with McKenna.

th- Wednesday: I exercised and started breakfast with the girls a little after 9. They started working on their Father’s Day cards. I showered and listened to the Book of Mormon and the Church News Podcast with Lloyd Newell. I looked up info to vote. I talked with Anna about her birthday party at Mantua. I texted another possible trombone teacher for Ben. The girls organized their clothes some. After lunch, Ben worked on the Trombone. I napped. I read my book club book. Ben went to his baseball pizza party and rode his bike home. The girls had dinner. Dan and I left for my birthday date with his parents. We ate at Twigs and then shopped at Downeast!  I got so many cute things!  Desi came over to hangout with Anna. Bethany and Alice slept in McKenna’s bed for the third night in a row.  Anna had a hard time going to bed alone and ended up sleeping on their floor in the same room as Bethany and Alice.

th- Thursday: Dan and I went walking again. I watched the news and did picture collages for April. I ate with the girls. Mia came over for the day.  Claire also came over. I worked on a grocery order and moving pictures.  We left at 11 to go to the city center splash pad with friends. It was pretty crowded but we found a spot in the shade.  I read my book club books while the kids played. Kaysen Jensen met us there so each girl had a friend to play with.  We came home by 1:15 and had mac and cheese for lunch. Anna went to Claire’s house. The four little kids played great the rest of the afternoon. I worked more on a grocery order and napped. I showered. Kaysen left. I started dinner. Dan came home early to take Ben (and the three girls) the Ben’s mountain biking practice at Snow Basin.  I ate and finished getting ready and went to choir. I felt so dumb, because for some reason, my brain had the time 7:30 locked in as the start time for choir. When it actually starts at 7!  I barely made it because it was my turn to pick up music at the Tabernacle.  I was so sweaty for the first 30mins.  I was so frustrated with myself and felt pretty overwhelmed most of rehearsal getting back into the swing of things. I later realized my brain was thinking of our SUNDAY start time!  That two week break was harder than I thought.  I talked with Dan and the kids were just getting to bed when I got home.

th- Friday: I got up and ready at 7:15 so I could go to the temple for an Initiatory session. I fed the kids breakfast when I got home.  I took Ben to his first trombone lesson. He did great and the 14 year old teacher was pretty good too!  I made some phone calls once we got home. I took the three girls to Lewis Park for ladies lunch. It was hot, but there was a breeze, so that helped.  Once we got home, I napped, then I started on Dan’s Father's Day calendar.  Dan and Ben packed for Mantua with the YM and then set out our new solar lights in the yard.  I took the three girls swimming at Kofoed’s with Brynn. Whitney brought her siblings as well.  We picked up pizza on the way home. We ate, then Clara and Hazel came over to hang out. I worked more on the calendar. Once cousins left, I got the girls to bed. Dan and I FaceTimed and got to chat briefly with McKenna as well!
