April '23- Week 3- The rest of St. George, Track Meet, Comb. Youth, Hip Hop with Bethany, Activity Days, Mantua with YW

April 15th- Saturday: I got up around 7:30 and drove Dan to the work event race site around 8:30, that way the kids and I could have a car for the day. The kids and I ate and got ready to go to Thunder Junction Park. We played there for about an hour and a half. We came home to the condo for lunch. Then we went swimming!  I got in too and did both of the slides!  We got back to the condo around 2:30. Dan was back as well and eating his lunch. McKenna and I showered and got ready. Alice napped a tiny bit. We went to visit Pres. and Sister Clove! The kids said Pres. and Sis. Clover were so nice and it was good to hear some mission stories. Bethany fell asleep on me while we were there.  We went to dinner at a taco place and ate outside. It was lovely weather and delicious food! We got dip n dots for a treat. We came back to the condo and played basketball, volleyball, and at the park again for a bit. The kids showered, packed their stuff, and we got them to bed by 9:30. I had phone time and worked on a grocery order. 

April 16th- Sunday: We got on the road by 6:30am. We ate at McDonald’s in Beaver around 8. We stopped in Benjamin for gas. When we got home around 11:15, we all hurried and got ready for church. We had our Ward Conference that day and enjoyed hearing Bishop and Pres. Farnes speak. The RS lesson was about missionary work. We unloaded the van and had lunch once we got home. Ben stayed after for ward youth council. I did laundry and helped the kids unpack. Dan went to a meeting with the Bridlewood Elder’s Quorum. McKenna and I had a quick YW’s meeting about Mantua. We had the Nelson Family conference recap. Then I had my family call. We had leftovers for dinner. I washed Anna and Bethany’s hair in my sink. We cleaned up more and got everyone to bed around 8:45. I looked over Summer camps and planned things for the week. 

April 17th- Monday: I started laundry and exercised once everyone left. Alice and I ate and did her music homework. She did Upstart while I showered. We went to their music class, then went to WalMart for groceries and a birthday gift for Meg. We had lunch when we got home and Alice had preschool. I put groceries away and changed laundry, then I went to McKenna’s track meet at Davis High. She placed 11th overall in the 1600m and 13th overall in the 800m! Once we got home, I took Ben to baseball practice. I told my roommates on Marco Polo about Dan’s job change situation. Anna had a head ache and wasn’t feeling well. We had sloppy Joe’s for dinner, then folded laundry. We watched our church videos and got the three girls to bed. Everyone seemed pretty tired still from our St. George trip. 

April 18th- Tuesday: Alice and I ate and watched the news. I showered and then Meg Hartvigsen came over to play.  I worked on Marco Polo and registering for WX City Summer camps. We had lunch and I practiced voice. The kids got home and did their reading and piano. I kept working at my to-do list. We had storms and thunder and hail! I picked McKenna up from track and Ben had baseball even though it was in the 40s. I made dinner and Anna ate before gymnastics. After we all ate, I picked up Ben. He jammed his thumb during practice. Dan went on a visit with Mat Hartvigsen.  I went to a RS service activity cleaning up some peoples' yards. We had bread and butter at the church afterwards. The kids went to bed and I kept working on texts and emails. 

April 19th- Wednesday: I subbed in Bethany’s class because Ms. G was sick. Thankfully, we had an assembly which took up an hour of the day. The rest of the day, we alternated between reading and discussing “The Giving Tree” and the kids doing computers. My kids’ had piano lessons canceled, so they worked on their reading minutes and drawing pictures for Jonathan. I napped a little. I picked up McKenna because she had a hurt ankle. I picked up Mia from school. I worked on some things in the basement while the girls played. I started dinner. Dan went on another visit. We ate together. Bethany had dance and I went for the last 20 mins for parent participation week, which was fun!  Ben, McKenna and I had the youth combined building activity, which was a trivia night. Ben had baseball practice. The three girls had baths and showers. Ben put them to bed while Dan and I went to McKenna’s volleyball game, which they won! 

April 20th- Thursday: I exercised. Jonathan stopped by before he had to leave to go home. Alice and I ate. I cleaned the kitchen while she did Upstart. We took down Easter decorations. We did her music homework, then I practiced voice. Alice and I had lunch and I divided chicken to freeze. I had to pick up Anna early from school because of an ear ache. I finally showered for the day and then drove carpool. I picked up Ben from crochet club. Sarah Moulton and I lead Bethany’s primary activity. We picked up trash and made bird feeders for Earth Day!  McKenna had piano. We all ate and then everyone except McKenna went to Ben’s first baseball game. They won! Ben walked on base both times and also got home both times! I worked on a grocery order once kids were in bed. 

April 21st- Friday: I exercised and ate. After I showered, I packed a little. Alice had preschool. I worked on the blog a little before Emmy and Cooper came over to be babysat. I worked more on the blog in the basement. Once kids got home, Emmy and Cooper left. McKenna and I packed up and drove to Mantua with the YW. The house was in the middle of getting new siding! We had pasta for dinner then hung out and talked. I heard Marsha’s conversion story, which was awesome! The girls did diamond art and friendship bracelets. We had brownies for dessert. We played murderer in the dark. We had a devotional and then all the girls went upstairs and all the leaders stayed downstairs and talked till almost 1. 

April '23- Week 2- Easter!, Dan Big Work Changes, Deer Clean up, McKenna Volleyball and hurt knee, St. George!

April 8th- Saturday: We got the kids up at 7:30 and they did a quick Easter egg hunt at our house before McKenna had to leave for her first volleyball practice. We ate breakfast and got ready for the day. We went to the Legacy House of Bountiful Easter Egg hunt on the Tabernacle lawn. It was a little snowy/muddy, but fun! We picked up groceries and got a car wash. When we got home, Dan prepped some things for a work event and I put groceries away and made egg salad for lunch. I was shocked ⅘ kids liked the egg salad!  The kids played outside, and McKenna got to go to Lagoon with Adrie for opening day!  I took a little nap. Anna left for Aspen’s birthday party. I blogged and we babysat Quin and Maple Walker. Ben did Minecraft for a long while. We had mac and cheese for dinner. McKenna and Bethany stayed home, while Ben and Alice and I went with my parents to an exotic car show at the Gateway where Dan was working. I picked up Anna from Sayge’s and got the three girls to bed. McKenna had Liza and Adrie over. Dan got home around 9:50 and ate something. Once Ben and Kenna were in bed, we talked more work stuff. 

April 9th- Sunday: Easter! I showered before breakfast. We had bunny pancakes!  The kids all showered and got ready for church. I crimped Anna’s hair. We had a lovely Sacrament meeting. The primary, YW, and Marianna West all sang. We had lunch and an Easter lesson once we got home and took some family pictures. I had my family call then napped. We prepped fruit and went to Webster Sunday dinner.  We also celebrated April birthdays. After we got kids to bed, Dan and I went back to his parents’ house to talk about work stuff and for Dan to get a blessing before talking with Mike in the morning. 

April 10th- Monday: After the kids left, I exercised and got asked to substitute. I quickly got Alice and myself ready. I took her and Meg to LPM, then I went to the school. I subbed in Ms. Albrecht’s 6th grade class. They were very talkative, but still mostly respectful. I subbed the last hour of the day in Ms. Morisson’s jr. high geography class. I drove my own kids home. I picked up Alice and Kaysen from preschool.  Bethany and Alice played outside because it was beautiful weather!  I worked on some phone calls and texts. I picked up McKenna from track, then I took Anna to the store to pick out deodorant. I made dinner once we got home.  Dan had an eventful day at work. He had a meeting with Nikki and Mike where Mike told them he will step down as the CEO.  After dinner, we went outside to clean up deer poop (so much!). Then we went to get ice cream as a reward!  We got the kids to bed and folded laundry and talked about work stuff. 

April 11th- Tuesday: I watched the news after the kids left. Alice and I ate. I Marco Poloed, Alice did Upstart, and then I cleaned the kitchen some. I got dressed, listened to Don’t Miss This, and then Alice and I went to my voice lesson. We had lunch, I napped and wasted time on my phone. Dan attended a lunch for wives of Utah legislators to present to them about Foster Care, and they did a service project for kids in Foster Care. I snuggled the kids when they got home. Anna showed me a sun dial she made. I drove Dan to Enterprise to rent the van for his two work trips of the week. I picked up McKenna from track. She got hit in the nose by a Frisbee at practice and had a small bruise. I made pasta salad for dinner. Anna skipped gymnastics because of a hurt leg. We ate, then Dan took the younger 4 out for a walk. McKenna and I started looking over summer plans. We got the girls to bed. I worked on the blog and Dan did work stuff. 

April 12th- Wednesday: I drove the kids to school. Dan drove to Vernal with Heidi and Lee, unfortunately, to fire someone. I curled McKenna’s hair and after she left, Alice and I went to the gym with Brynn. We stopped for gas on the way home. We had lunch and Alice had preschool. I got caught up on Marco Polo. I showered. The three middle kids walked to piano. I worked on emails and napped a little. I worked on a grocery order while in the pick up line to get Mia. I also picked up preschool kids. Some kids played outside. McKenna came home from track with some road rash from a fall during practice. I went through some of Ben’s baseball stuff to see what fit him. I made dinner then took Ben to his first baseball practice. Mia got picked up. We all ate. Anna had a primary activity. Bethany had hip hop. We had youth activities then went to McKenna's first volleyball game! Dan did baths and showers for the girls. 

April 13th- Thursday: I subbed in Ms. Enquist’s class as the instructor. It was a pretty normal day with reading groups, a math group, and then computers at the end of the day. A boy in Ms. Huggard’s class fell at recess and his glasses broke and cut his head. :( McKenna’s track meet got canceled because of weather. The kids did their piano and we finished packing for St. George. I prepped food. Dan had lots of work calls as the executive board met with Mike to talk about him resigning. We left around 6:45pm. We ate rice a roni in the car. I talked with Dan about work stuff. He had more calls and I listened to my book. The kids did their own thing. We stopped in Parawon for gas. We made it to the AirBnB at 11:30pm and got everyone to bed by 12. 

April 14th- Friday: We got up around 7:30/8. We had breakfast, then got ready to go. We left around 10:30 and first hiked the Aspiration trail. It’s known for its fun /painted rocks. Dan was on the phone quite a bit with coworkers as they found out about Mike resigning.  We had a picnic lunch by the temple.  Dan told the kids about all the changes at work. We spent a little time in the visitor’s center. Next, we went to run and climb around the Dixie Sugar Loaf. Dan had to go help his coworker set up for the race event, so the kids and I swam and played at the condo pools!  I took a progress picture of McKenna's knee. We ordered pizza for dinner, then we played volleyball, basketball, and at the park.  Dan got home around 8:30. We went to Sweet Roll Tacos for a treat!

April '23- Week 1- General Conference, Spring Break, Snow, Broken Gutters, Staying in Layton, Dying Eggs,

April 1- Saturday: We got to sleep in and snuggle. Alice came in our room early because of nightmares. We had french toast, then the kids set up their areas to watch General Conference.  Ben played a little April Fool's prank on McKenna and her phone. We did the goodie bags this time! Dan took Ben to get a gift for Grant Enquist for his pool party birthday party. Anna and McKenna went for a run outside. Bethany and Alice played outside. I tried to figure out the big Easter Week poster and pictures for Dan to print. We had leftovers for lunch. Dan went to pick up Ben from the Rec Center. A new General Young Women’s presidency was called with Don’t Miss This’s Emily Bell Freeman as president!  After the second session, I got dressed, and then we went to Dan’s parents’ house for nachos, donuts, and more General Conference! I took Bethany and Alice to Layton to my parents’ house so they could sleepover and they would babysit them early Sunday morning while the rest of us would attend the Conference Center in person.

April 2- Sunday: We woke up around 7:30 and left around 8:40 for the morning session of General Conference. I loved Music and the Spoken Word as always!  I was really cold that whole session. Anna sat by Lola and Ben sat by Russell. Grandfather spoke about eliminating contention in our lives and being peacemakers!  We got home around 12:30 and my parents brought the girls home. We had a muffin tin snack lunch. We watched the second session and babysat Charlie. 15 temples were announced!  We talked with my parents after the session. I started on dinner as the kids cleaned up the family room. We had an Easter lesson then watched the first episode of Relative Race for the new season 11.  Dan and I and the older two kids played scrabble. 

Apr. 3- Monday: Our Spring Break started! We slept in till 7:30/8. We woke up to lots of snow!! I exercised with Anna and McKenna. After we ate, the kids did piano, reading, and 1 chore. I helped Alice with her music and gave her a bath. We all had lunch together. I kept the laundry going and then cleaned the master bathroom shower. I took McKenna and Bridget to Plato’s closet and then made an Amazon return. I came home and shoveled some and talked with Dan about work stuff. The 4 younger kids played outside in the snow for a bit with a couple neighbors. I picked up McKenna and Bridget and then took them to get frosted lemonade at Chick Fil A. I started dinner when we got home. We ate, did our Easter week lesson, then folded laundry and watched some of the NCAA basketball championship game.  It kept snowing most of the day! After the girls were in bed, I went through papers and got the chair/table area in my room organized and Dan and I folded our laundry. We talked more about work stuff. 

Apr. 4th- Tuesday: We slept in and had MORE SNOW! I ate with the kids, then I worked on mending and patching some clothes. I drove McKenna, Ben, Katie, and Truman to the temple for baptisms.  The roads were not great, but Dan’s car handled it well. I practiced voice, then we all had lunch. I got dinner going in the crock pot. I took Ben and Anna to piano. I got dressed, then took McKenna and Bethany to piano. I worked on sending some emails and napped a little. I drove Ben to Luke’s. I made picture collages with the rest of January pictures. Dan had to knock down the snow that was weighing down the gutters so much. The snow ended up making the gutters break and pull away from the house. We had dinner, then I played Candyland with Alice. We tossed and kicked around a ball downstairs with all the girls. Once they were ready for bed, we watched half of "Tangled." I also watched half of "Napoleon Dynamite" with McKenna and Ben.

Apr. 5th- Wednesday: Dan left around 8:00 for work. I got up at 8:30 and shoveled. I ate with the kids. They did their piano and reading and got dressed. I showered. Taggart, Desi, and Queensley came over to play. I worked on organizing my room more. We had grilled cheese for lunch. Ben and Taggart made a movie trailer. McKenna ordered some new dresses. I vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned my room and bathroom. Billy also came over to play. Ben and Taggart did melty beads. The Alexanders and Q left at 4. The girls and I finished watching "Tangled." I blogged a little. Taggart left. We had leftovers for dinner. Dan came home and then had a later work call. He ate after us. The three girls did their showers and baths. We had our Easter week lesson. After the girls were in bed, we finished "Napoleon Dynamite." 

April 6th- Thursday: I exercised once Dan left for work. I ate with the kids and then worked on food prep for staying in Layton. I showered and packed and the kids packed and did reading and piano. We had lunch. Dan came home and we finished packing and left by 3:15. We stopped for gas. Dan had a call on the drive up. We played and hung out once we got to Layton. I tried to nap some. Ben and Anna did Legos. Mom and I prepped dinner. After we ate, we played a couple games and got the kids to bed. Dan and I enjoyed talking with my parents. We told them about the changes coming at Dan's work.

April 7th- Friday: Dan and I left for our temple appt at 7:45. We did an endowment session and then picked my dad up from the Toyota dealership where he dropped off my mom’s car for repairs. We had lunch and then dyed Easter eggs! The kids played games and played the Oculus. We had an Easter lesson and then cleaned up and left. We ate chick fil a dinner in the parking lot and then saw the new "Mario" movie with all the Websters for Lara’s birthday. We got home and unpacked and got ready to host a game night. Jennee Maday, her boyfriend Ty, and Mindy and Greg Remington came over. We had a great time getting to know Jennee and Ty better!  We set up for Easter.
