Feb. '23- Week 2- YW Pamper night, Ben Jazz Game, Ben and McKenna Baptisms, Anna New Glasses, Galentine Parties, Super Bowl, Swa's Birthday Lunch, Valentine's Day, Dan Presented to Wives of Legislators

Feb. 8th- Wednesday: Dan donated plasma and I drove the kids to school. Bethany went to school even with her runny nose. Alice and I went to the gym with Brynn and Charlie. I got some chicken marinating for dinner. After lunch, Alice had preschool. I showered. The kids got home and they did not have piano. I read with Ben and napped. I picked up preschool kids, then started dinner. We all ate a little after 5. Ben went to a Jazz game with his Jr. Jazz team. Bethany had hip hop and Anna went to the Oakridge Assisted Living Center for her primary activity. McKenna and I went to Young Women's which was a pamper night. We did nails, hair, and facials.

Feb. 9th- Thursday: Dan took McKenna and Ben to the temple to do baptisms. I drove the girls to school. Alice and I ate and got dressed. We took McKenna to school late and then went to SLC for my haircut with Sara Stewart. We came home and did Alice’s music homework and I practiced voice. We had lunch, I worked on a grocery order, and napped a little. I drove carpool, then went back to the school to help at Jungle Book rehearsal. McKenna had piano. Ben went to church basketball.  We had dinner and chilled. The girls painted their nails. Bethany still had a pretty bad runny nose. Once kids were in bed, I worked on the blog. Dan played Pickleball with the Elder’s Quorum.

Feb. 10th- Friday: I drove the kids to school while Dan donated. I exercised.  Alice had preschool, and I went to Ladies Lunch. I came home and listened to my book, put November pictures into collages, and napped a little. Dan had a meeting with one of the Church’s facilities managers to see about remodeling the West Building. The kids got home from school. I took McKenna and Adrie to the store. I prepped veggies for our pizza night with the Moultons, Pugsleys, and Mosses. The kids got to see the puppies and play with friends. The ovens at the Moulton's somehow made my eyes burn most of the time we were there, but we still had lots of fun!

Feb. 11th- Saturday: We slept in till 8 ish. We ate and then I left to get groceries and everyone else started on vacuuming and cleaning toilets and laundry. Bethany went to Adam’s for a fun girl cousin Galentine’s party. Ben had basketball practice. I worked on organizing the basement toys some. Anna had a little head ache, probably because of her new glasses (which finally arrived!). We had lunch, then I showered and got the chocolate fountain going for McKenna’s friend gathering!  Her friends came at 2. They ate and played some games and had fun.  McKenna said afterwards she felt pretty stressed the whole time worrying if everyone was having fun or not. I prepped veggies and dip and we made mac and cheese. As soon as all of McKenna’s friends left, Dan and I left for a Nelson cousin gathering. We got to see Steven and Angela’s newly remodeled Normandie Circle house.  We had good food and good conversations with about 40 Nelson cousins.  We got home and talked with McKenna and Ben. *I felt pretty congested all day. I must have caught Bethany and Alice’s colds.

Feb. 12th- Sunday: Anna and I woke up not feeling great with colds. I fed the three girls and I fasted. I helped Anna finish her gymnastics power point slides project. I finished getting ready for church. McKenna shared her testimony about Jesus’s miracle of turning water to wine and how He did what His mother asked and how she also went to Him for help. Our three girls participated in Primary opening exercises. Anna prayed, Bethany gave a scripture, and Alice gave a talk about Nicodemus.  The YW lesson was about our need for daily worship. We went with Bethany to her baptism preview after church. I had my conference call and we hosted the Websters for the Super Bowl!  I did some texting to plan for the week and enjoyed talking to family.

Feb. 13th- Monday: I subbed as a Kindergarten instructor. I got home around 11:20. I listened to my book and began switching laundry and mopping the floors upstairs. Alice went to Costco with Dan, then had preschool. I went to lunch at Laurie’s with all the sisters for Swa’s birthday. I drove carpool, then finished laundry and mopping once we got home. The kids made their Valentine boxes. We had spaghetti for dinner. I had book club at Kylee Behunin’s talking about the Prince Harry book “Spare.” I folded laundry once I got home.

Feb. 14th- Tuesday: I subbed again in Kindergarten reading and math groups. Alice went to the Hartvigsen’s. We got home and ate lunch. Alice and I played a little and then I made pasta salad for dinner. I napped and then went to Jungle Book rehearsal once McKenna got home. Dan had a presentation with the spouses of the Utah Legislators. Anna had gymnastics and Ben had a Jr. Jazz game. Dan and I went to the DCC for a yummy Valentine’s Day dinner and dancing! We rode up with the Stewarts and Dan’s parents met us there as well. My cold was getting a little better every day.

Feb. 1- Wednesday: Dan donated, so I drove the kids to school. I also drove McKenna and friends, then went to the gym with Brynn. I watched Kaysen and Amelia for about and hour. We ate lunch and then took them to preschool and Jordan picked up Amelia. I showered then drove the kids to piano. I worked on phone calls, emails, and texts for the next hour or so. I picked the kids up from piano and went to the school book fair and then Parent Teacher conferences for Ben, Anna, and Bethany.  Our kids are such awesome students and we are so blessed!  My parents then babysat while Dan and I went to dinner and a Jazz game with Dan’s parents and the Winegars.  Bethany had dance and Ben and McKenna went to the combined youth activity which was a “Where’s Waldo” at City Creek.  We talked a little with my mom when we got home and then went to bed!

Feb. 2- Thursday: I watched the news then ate and showered before my OBGYN appointment. I was quite nervous to have my IUD changed out, but it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it was going to be. I listened to my book. I had lunch and then went to Jungle Book rehearsal at 12:30 since they only had a half day. Anna and I got home around 2:20. She ate, I worked on a grocery order and napped a little. McKenna got home. We talked some, then we figured out the evening with the Utes basketball game (who was going and what time to leave). I curled McKenna’s hair, then made a little dinner for those who were leaving. McKenna's Madrigals choir sang the National Anthem at the Utes Basketball game! Alice and I stayed home and ate together, cleaned a little, then we played two games and watched The Sound of Music!  Everyone else got home around 8:40 and were in bed by 9:30. I worked more on the grocery order and Dan watched a show.

Feb. 3- Friday: I subbed a half day for Mrs. Alexander in 1st grade. Ben went home with Luke Voehl and Grant Enquist. I ate and napped a tiny bit, then took McKenna for another stomach appt at Primary Children’s. It was helpful and they gave us some new things to try. We picked up meds for Sadie, then picked up tacos for dinner. We ate and then took our kids plus 4 friends to the Utes gymnastics meet! The Utes won!  We also got to see Olympian, Jordan Chiles, who was competing for UCLA. We got the kids to bed and Lyla stayed to hang out more with McKenna. Dan and I finished "Knives Out: The Glass Onion."

Feb. 4th- Saturday: After breakfast, we cleaned up the kitchen and Ben vacuumed the family room. I showered and then took the girls to the Dollar Store and 5 Below. We were mostly shopping for Valentine cards and candies. Dan took Ben to the bank and then to basketball practice. He also picked up groceries. We all got home for lunch. I worked on sweeping the garage and cleaning out the van. Dan gave Ben a haircut. Dan, Ben and I went to the leadership session of Stake Conference. Lia came over to hang out with McKenna. We ate dinner, Dan gave Alice a bath, and I finished cleaning out the van. Dan and I then left for the adult session of stake conference. McKenna went to Megan’s to hang out with her and Adrie. We came back to our house after the adult session and ate Nielsen’s and talked with Dan's parents, the Stewarts, and the Winegars!

Feb. 5th- Sunday: We got ready and went to the Regional Center by 9:15 to practice our song. We were able to run through it 3 times and Tandi Lefler was there to help us with sound and staging a bit. I'm very thankful for that. Stake Conference was wonderful as always! I loved hearing so many people talk about “overcoming the world.” Our song went very well and I got many kind texts from friends and neighbors! We had lunch and I prepped dinner in the crock pot. We watched our videos and then went our separate ways for a bit. I napped a little and had my conference call. Dan played games with the kids. We watched Relative Race then had dinner and watched another episode. After the three girls were in bed, we prepped dinner for the next night and Ben worked on his robot.

Feb. 6th- Monday: We woke up to snow. I subbed for Ms. Amber the kindergarten instructor and found out she resigned. I was excited to sub though, because it was the 100th day of school and I love the fun activities they do then!  When we got home, I took Bethany and Alice to Sayge’s for her playgroup. They both sounded like they were coming down with a cold though. I worked on youth conference food committee stuff. Adrie came over to plan stuff with McKenna for their friends' Galentine's party. We fed her dinner. We folded laundry and my dad stopped by to get Sadie’s meds. We put the kids to bed and I worked on Youth Conf. food more.

Feb. 7th- Tuesday: Bethany stayed home sick with a cold. I did light exercise. I took both girls to my voice lesson. Then we got gas at Costco and signed papers at the bank. We had lunch, then I worked on some texts, washed my bathroom mats, and napped a tiny bit. I went to Jungle Book rehearsal. I made dinner once I got home. Anna went to gymnastics. We all ate. Dan has a meeting at the West Building. I picked up Anna and we watched the second half of Jungle Book.  I put the girls to bed and then took Ben to his Jr. Jazz game. Dan joined at halftime. We got home and worked on setting temple appointments and having phone time. *Alice has been making my bed a lot for me. When I asked her to pose in front of my bed, this is what she gave me. Also, the kids have been trying to keep things interesting by packing each other's lunches. They are also writing each other cute love notes!

Jan. 22nd- Sunday: I slept till 7:30 then caught up writing in my journal. We all got ready for the day and then watched two sacrament meetings via Zoom, one where David spoke and one where Joe spoke. We packed and then left the hotel by 11. We went to the New Port temple and walked around the grounds and had a mini CFM discussion. We went to a beach next and walked around and took pictures. We got Balboa bars and then had lunch at Old Spaghetti Factory. We flew home around dinner time. I listened to my book club book lots (the Prince Harry Book, Spare). Dan and Ben picked us up and it was freezing! Once I got home, I told Dan and Ben and McKenna all about my trip. I unpacked and got to bed! I'm so grateful for Dan doing so much while I was gone!

Jan. 23rd- Monday: I got ready early so I could substitute. Unfortunately, here was some miscommunication and I didn’t actually need to be there until 11am. So I went and helped in the 4th grade since Mr. McKinney was out and his class was divided. I went back to the Jr High and taught Ms. Morrison's psychology class. We went over slides about sleep. Ms. Morrison got back earlier than expected, so I left early. Ben went to the Capitol for school choice day (Charter Day on the Hill). I ended up only doing about 2.5 hours of work real work for a full day’s pay!  I napped and then drove carpool. The kids and I went to see the Moulton’s puppies, then they did homework and I made dinner. McKenna ate and went to Newsies. We all ate and I cleaned the kitchen. Emmy came over for a bit while Meghan was gone. We folded laundry and Dan helped Alice go through clothes. We looked at my trip pictures and then the kids went to bed. I looked over stuff for voice and chatted with McKenna when she got home. Dan worked on church stuff.

Jan. 24th- Tuesday: Alice and I had a chill morning. After we got dressed, we went to my voice lesson. We stopped by Costco to get my eye drops and had a quick lunch. Then we went to Anna’s CK art class to volunteer in there.  We came home for a little bit and then Alice went to Meghan’s while I went back to school for Jungle Book rehearsal. We ate leftovers for dinner that my mom brought by. She had leftovers from a primary activity she did. Anna had gymnastics and we picked her up and went to Backstage to see McKenna and Ben in "Newsies."  The Johnsons, Hamblins, and Moultons came to watch as well!

Jan. 25th- Wednesday: I got up at 6 and woke up McKenna and Ben to go to the temple with the Hamblins. They went even though it was pretty snowy! We got Anna and Boof ready for school. Dan picked up Ben from the temple and took him to school a little late. I did a quick exercise and then ate with Alice. She did Upstart and I showered and curled McKenna’s hair. Alice and I went to my one year post eye surgery check-up. It went well and my eyes are great!  We came home and I took a quick nap. Alice and I ate and then we went to her parent/teacher conference. We shoveled snow and then did her music homework. The kids had piano and I went to meet with McKenna’s counselor to talk about her 9th grade class schedule. I drove a bunch of kids home. The kids watched shows, then I started dinner and listened to my book. We ate and Anna had a primary activity. Boof had dance. I went with Ben and McKenna to the stake youth activity, which was a dance! It was a blast! The Bridlewood ward was in charge. They taught some line dances and didn't do any slow dances, which was good. I prepped food for tomorrow's dinner.

Jan. 26th- Thursday: I subbed as the instructor in Ms. Lee’s class. The reading groups and math group went well. Recess duty was super cold!  I saw Anna and Ben throughout the day. I stayed after for Jungle Book practice and taught more of the elephant march and "I Wanna Be Like You." Ben had Crochet club then came to watch rehearsal. Alice and Bethany were with Grandma and Grandpa for the day/afternoon. They went to Whitney’s basketball game too. McKenna also went to the game and then got ready for Newsies.  Thankfully, I had a crockpot dinner going all day so I just had to make the rice when I got home. The kids did their homework and piano. Dan hurried home to eat before some church meetings. I practiced our stake conference song with the younger 4. They went to bed and I cleaned and did a grocery order.

Jan. 27th- Friday: I exercised after the kids left. We took the van in for its emissions check and registration. After breakfast and showering and Upstart, Alice got a haircut. Once she left for preschool, I hosted a ministering sisters lunch with Meghan, Amanda, and Chelsie Mudrow. It was great to catch up with them.  I napped when they left. Alice got home, I finalized the grocery order. The other kids got home. I took Anna and Bethany for haircuts and shopping for a gift for Aubrey. We brought pizza home and Ben and McKenna left for call time. The girls ate, then Dan and I left for a quick dinner date to a taco truck! It was yummy! I went to Newsies again! Both grandparents came, as well as Mickelle, Sam, Abby, Hailey, Adam and Mia.  We snacked when we got home. Dan and I calendared for next week.

Jan. 28th- Saturday: We got up at 8:45, had breakfast, and Ben left for the Planetarium with the primary activity day boys. This was a kind of make-up activity from when it got cut short before. Dan gave himself a haircut. I worked on Jungle Book stuff. Anna left for Aubrey’s paint party! Dan picked up Ben a little early and took him to basketball practice. I had a phone call with Ginger Vandenberg about being in charge of food for youth conference. YIKES! We had lunch and then Dan picked up groceries and Anna. I worked on Jungle Book more. The kids watched shows and played. Dan napped and then I took Ben to Luke’s house. I napped also. McKenna left for her last Newsies show. Desi came over. We had dinner and the two little girls had baths. We watched "Alice in Wonderland" with them. Anna and Desi watched Harry Potter in the theater room. We put the girls to bed and Ben got home from Luke's. Dan and I watched the new "Knives Out" before McKenna got home.

Jan. 29th- Sunday: We fed kids breakfast at 8:30. We showered and then Rachael came over to help us practice our song for stake conference. It snowed pretty much all day but thankfully the roads weren’t too bad. We had a 5th Sunday combined youth meeting about gathering. I went to a youth conference meeting. I joined my family call late and prepped fruit for family dinner. We had Webster dinner celebrating January BDs. Then McKenna and Ben and I went to the stake center for a devotional broadcast with Elder Gong. Ben worked on homework when we got home. We tried to go to bed earlier.

Jan. 30th- Monday: I subbed again in Ms. Lee’s class. It was so cold we had to have inside recess all day!  After school, I took McKenna to get a haircut. We folded laundry. The kids did homework and piano. McKenna had a piano lesson. After dinner, we watched Relative Race!  After the kids were in bed, I worked on the Nelson News and Ben worked on building his robot he got from the Webster family party.

Jan. 31st- Tuesday: I exercised after kids left. Alice and I went to Bethany’s 2nd grade culminating project-- Asia day! I was kind of an extra helper and wondered to several tables. We had Chinese food for lunch. We came home and I had a head ache, so I napped and then blogged. I picked up McKenna, and then went to Jungle Book rehearsal and taught “That’s What Friends are For,” both parts. We got home and had leftovers for dinner. Anna had gymnastics and Ben had a basketball game. I was proud he took a few shots. Unfortunately, he missed, and their team lost.  We put the girls to bed and then planned somethings with McKenna. I blogged a little more. Ben got asked by a girl named Emma in his class to be her Valentine! He said yes, but said he doesn’t like her. :)
