Best Babysitters Ever!

When Dan and I went with his work up to Aspen Grove, this is what happens when Aunt Lara and Uncle Sam babysit.  We get AWESOME pictures taken... just for fun!!  :)  Thanks Lara!!

Preschool!

McKenna and I have officially started her first year of Preschool.  The reason I'm including myself in that sentence is because I am one of her teachers!  Me and 3 other moms rotate teaching the class of 4 girls (3 of the girls are cousins) once a month.  We hold preschool two days a week for two hours each day.  Our "curriculum" is mainly letters, numbers, and fun holiday activities.  We also teach a little about the calendar and do a math or science activity that has to do with the letter of the day.

This was McKenna with cousin Whitney on the "orientation" day.  We rotated to each of the homes and each taught part of the preschool day schedule.
This was at the house where the teacher did the "table time" activity.  They each made a "self-portrait."
This was the actual first day of preschool.  I took the turn to teach first!  I was SO excited to go through some of my old teaching files and find stuff the girls could do.
Ben also loved participating and feeling like a big kid.
Here's the class!
McKenna, Johanna L. (neighbor), Kate S. (cousin), and Whitney W. (cousin).
We also recently graduated McKenna to a booster seat in the car.  Seeing her sleep in the car folded in half is almost painful. : /
Here's Ben on the preschool orientation day.
Again, he wants to do everything the big girls do. :) "Help mom!"
Also, a fun play date with cousins Whitney...
... and Oliver

And me and my boy who wouldn't sleep one night. This picture was taken at 10:30pm.

Tracy Aviary

Dan's sister, Brynn, had some great discounted tickets to go to the Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park.
This bird had the coolest eyelashes.
It was a fun day with lots of cousins!
Ben totally posed for me in front of the flamingoes.

The boys

At the bird show

Kate got to help feed some ducks.

And Whitney was brave enough to help feed the Emu!  This thing came running right at her and she didn't even flinch.
Ben backed away though.

They had this cool sculpture thing that the kids could spin around and make the birds fly too.

What a lovely day!  Thanks for the tickets Br!
