May- Week 4- My BD, Memorial Day, Ben's Kindergarten Program, Epic Pot Pie Fail!

Monday I had a camp meeting with Erica.  We packed a lunch and went to Hogan park with all my sisters-in-law (except Laurie).  I'm so thankful to live so close to each of them and they are such an influence for good in my life!  Jordan Slaugh came with us to play with Ben.
In the afternoon Ben and Anna played at the Alexander's.  Dan mowed the lawn when he got home and for Family Home Evening we talked about emergency preparedness.  The kids didn't like that too much, but I felt a little more peace of mind.

Tuesday was my 33rd Birthday!
The kids were looking cute doing morning stretches before M and B left for school.
More of Anna's fashion and accessorizing!  Bethany had put them on next as soon as Anna put them down.
I went walking with Rachael, then Taggart came to play for a bit.  After lunch Rachael came to get Ben and Anna so I could have some time to myself for my birthday.  And what did I do with my time to myself?  BLOG!  ;)  She's such a great friend!!  For dinner that night we went to a restaurant I've been wanting to try for a while, The Protein Foundry.  They have smoothies, acai, and gourmet toast.  It was delicious!
Unfortunately I had a bad headache during most of dinner.  It went away later with some meds.  That evening I skyped or facetimed with my family and Dan's parents.  After kids went to bed I finished blogging and felt so happy, and satisfied, and blessed to be alive and to be doing what I'm doing in my life right now!
Dan got me these beautiful flowers along with some clothes and more peanut M&Ms!!
Wednesday the kids had gymnastics.  Anna played at Lizzy's and Taggart & Henry came over to play.  I worked on Dan's Father's Day gift.  In the afternoon, the older three kids went to the Moulton's for sprinklers and popsicles.  The youth did a free carwash that night and McKenna and I attended a baby shower for Ann Marie Burkholz.

Thursday I went walking with Rachael.  After lunch I met Brynn at the ZOO!  We got to see the bird show and ride the carousel.

We got home around 3:30 and babysat Camille and Ivy Roth.
After dinner we went to Ben's T-ball game and my brother Jonathan came.  It was their second to last game so they passed out their trophies.  So fun for Ben to be able to play with cousins Ollie and Henry!

Dan had a pretty late night doing work and Bishop stuff so after the kids were in bed I watched TV.

Friday I had a PJ day!  I worked on my grocery list and the blog.  The girls watched "Frozen."  I also listened to my book club book a lot.  Dan got home around 4 and did some work outside with Ben.  Then we grilled hot dogs for dinner.  That night Dan went biking with Paul Schmutz to Rudy's Flat to drop in on the Deacon's camp out.
We had a dance party after Dan left.  I always want to remember these!
After kids were in bed I hung out with Mickelle who came up to sleep over so she could babysit early the next morning.
The girls supervising the grilling in the patio room.
Saturday Mickelle babysat while we went to the temple to do sealings.  Then I went to brunch with Mickelle and our cousin Stefanie.  Our family had a picnic lunch that afternoon in our backyard.  Dan hung the lights in the backyard.  I worked on going through kids' clothes in the basement (the picture of the hoodie as per Ben's request. He was instantly attached, though it was much too small for him. Funny boy.) and McKenna had a playdate with Camille.  We had dinner that night at the Puzey's with the Lewises, Moultons, and Johnsons (Mike and Molly).  Mickelle slept over again that night.

Sunday after church we packed up and headed to Mantua for Memorial Day! Everyone in the Webster family came up except Sam and Lara.  We slept in the purple room and had a rough night!  3/4 of the kids napped on the drive up from like 5-6pm so they just weren't tired till 11 or 12!  We still managed to play some games with grown ups though.
Kids playing before bedtime.
Monday was Memorial Day.  Dan got up early to go golfing and Bethany finally fell asleep in our bed from like 6:45-10am.  Like I said, it was a rough nights sleep!

We fed the kids breakfast and when the dads got home we all walked to the Cemetery to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Webster!

I took McKenna and Ben and went with Dave and Laurie and kids, as well as Brynn and her oldest 4 on a hike.
To get to it we have to walk under the overpass and the kids thought it was pretty cool to climb to the top.
It was a pretty hike but kind of noisy because the trail was close to the canyon road the whole time.  We made it just to the view of the Brigham City Temple them we turned around.  It was about 4 miles total.  Dan took the two little girls back home to Mantua.
We got back to the house around 1 and then went swimming!  We had a BBQ with everyone for dinner and Bethany was pretty much awful because she was so tired.  We made it home to Bountiful by 8 and quickly put kids to bed.

Monday Ben woke up with pink eye so he stayed home from school.  Dan took McKenna to a braces appointment.  I also decided on a whim to register for a 10K and got my friend Kylee to do it with me!  The girls played dress up and Ben took this picture of all of us in bonnets.
I did some girls camp stuff and worked on laundry.
We had Ben's final Tball game that night but unfortunately half of their team didn't show up (turns out there was a preschool graduation or something) so we had to combine with the other team.  The organizers provided free hot dogs that night for families!

Wednesday Ben had his Kindergarten Graduation program! He was such a performer!
Ben's speaking part was to welcome everyone and recite the pledge!
They counted by 2s, 3s, 5s, and 10s.
Ben got to be Georgie Prodgie.
We loved that Ben, like McKenna, had Mrs. Thomas for 1st grade.  Mrs. Andersen and Mrs, Enquist were wonderful instructors as well.  My sister was able to come too!  Ben is such a sweet boy and was hugging many of his friends as we left.
Desi, Taggart, and Bennett came over to play, then the kids had gymnastics.  After we picked up McKenna we went to get Keva Juice and Great Harvest for lunch.  Cute pictures of Bethany watching the rain.
That evening the Gunnersons stopped by and dropped of some hand-me-downs including this awesome Captain Hook costume!  Bethany was having a hard time waking up from her nap.
That evening I had an epic fail!  I was making two chicken pot pies for dinner for us and the Lewises.  When it came time to get them out of the oven they were two heavy to lift one-handed, which I was doing, so I dropped them! Not only did I burn my arm but I lost half of each of the pot pies down in the crack of the oven door!
(Day of and a week later)
SUCH a mess!  Dan had to help me take apart the oven door that night to clean it all up!  And I just salvaged what I could for both the Lewises and us to eat.

May- Week 3- Gpa Mike Here, Anna PS Grad, Spring Concert, YW Campout.

Monday I went visiting teaching then to Wal-Mart.  After Ben got home from school he got to work making a Lego fidget spinner!  He's so nice to share.
That evening my Dad came to town for some work meetings in SLC.
Cute selfie with the kids (Anna being Darth Vader).
After dinner we walked up to the Alexander's for Anna's co-op preschool graduation!
I made the hats and certificates and Charley put together a slide show of all the pictures we took throughout the year.  We also had the kids sing a couple songs they learned.
It was such a fun year with those kids and their moms!  I'm so thankful to have done this with great friends and neighbors!
Tuesday was a rough day for me.  I came down with a stomach virus!  I was down pretty much the whole day and thankfully Anna played at Desi's and Ben played at Bennett's.
That evening I helped McKenna finish her insect report and bug model for school.
Anna has some great fashion sense!
Wednesday we woke up to a skiff of snow and the kids got excited!
That day the kids also got to do the parachute at gymnastics!
McKenna had Activity Days in the afternoon and they did pedicures.
Dan had a welfare training in the evening but I spent time with Mickelle and my dad.
Bethany dancing to a garage band demo song with Grandpa.
Thursday I went VT to Shelly's and Anna had playdates with preschool friends and Lizzy.
Adorable "Popcorn Popping" with Bethany
Pretending she had a smoothie. ;)
In the evening my siblings and dad came over for a quick dinner before we headed to the school for McKenna and Ben's Spring Concert and Art Extravaganza.
Ben's right in the middle.

McKenna is also in the middle.
SO thankful for all the family support!  Dan's mom came too!
 Their displayed artwork.
When we got home the kids laid out all their art work from the whole school year and we had a little art museum going on!

Friday I did a workout video and put together my grocery list and order.
After school, McKenna had a late over with Swa's house with Katie and Whitney!  Dan's mom came to babysit (until Mickelle could get off work) while Dan and I went on a YW campout!
We drove most of the beehives down to Diamond Fork (past Spanish Fork).  We had a hot dog dinner and cobbler for dessert!  Becky gave a little devotional and we went to bed around 11.  I was so thankful to have ear plugs!  I slept mostly through the night!  It was quite cold that night but Dan and I stayed toasty in our tiny tent and it helped that I had four layers on my upper body!
In the morning we ate, had another devotional, packed up, packed sack lunches, and left for a hike around 10am.  We hiked to the Diamond Fork Hot Springs.  It was crowded so we had to park pretty far from the trail head.  All in all, we hiked/walked 6.5 miles!  It was beautiful and the Laurel's kept us going at a pretty fast pace.
We got home by 4pm, started laundry, and Dan worked outside on the sprinklers and taking down Christmas lights.  We had Del Taco dinner and picked up our groceries then went to bed exhausted!

Sunday snapchat fun!

McKenna made this darling sign, inspired by the Liv and Maddie Disney show about twin sisters who have a sign in their room that says "Sisters by Chance, Friends by Choice."
Dan came home late after church due to Seminary Graduation but we still managed to watch some of our favorite show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!"

This was a funny video we took of Bethany one night before bed.  She all of the sudden volunteered for something very enthusiastically and loudly and it made us all laugh.  So she kept doing it!  Then, when we told her to calm down she for some reason felt the need to bend down and touch the ground. :)

May '17- Week 2- Parrish Creek Hike, McK and Preschool Zoo, Preschool Fire Station, Mother's Day/May BDs

Snapchat silliness!
Monday Jonathan came over in the morning to look at some computer problems I'd been having, then he babysat while I volunteered in Ben's class.  I quickly ran to the grocery store before needing to pick up Ben from school.  When we got home, Ben quickly changed while I gathered a few things before heading out on a hike with Laurie and Brynn.  It was up Parrish Creek and it was honestly a little scary at times.  There was rushing water very close to the trail at times and several steep parts where I could only slide down on my bum.  I had Bethany on my back so I didn't feel like I had great balance and I wasn't much help to Anna and Ben.  Thank heavens for Laurie who hefted lots of the kids several times!
In spite of me being scared, it was still mostly fun for the kids!  The older kids were able to scramble up some rocks to be able to see the reason for the hike, the petroglyphs!  Henry said it was "Indian blood."  The hike wasn't very long in length, but the technicality of it was quite difficult in my books.
Still, I was thankful to get out of my hiking comfort zone. :)
Very steep at some parts.
Desi and Henry came over to play in the afternoon and I went through McKenna's clothes with her.  We also went to the Ringwood's house that night for the May Nelson Family birthday party.

Unfortunately Anna got some bug bites on our hike and by the next morning there were quite large and inflamed.  She must be pretty allergic to them.  Poor thing said they hurt a lot!
Tuesday was a crazy day!  Anna went to the zoo with her preschool friends (Rachael and Holley took them) and I went to the zoo with McKenna's class as a chaperone.  Bethany and Ben were babysat by Swa.  I only had McKenna and her friend Grace in my "group" and they are such good girls.  On top of that, I had no stroller and the weather was perfect!  It was such a lovely day at the zoo.  They have a fun insect exhibit going on right now which was very cool because McKenna's class just finished doing insect reports.
Pictured are the elephants, wolves, snow leopard, inside the reptile house where we found Anna and the preschoolers, and the bird show where we saw McKenna's teacher!
The lions looked like they were having a meeting at one point with ALL of them hanging out so close to each other.  The girls had fun walking through the gift shop afterwards as well.   And Bethany loved hanging out with Ellie and going for a walk with Swa.
All the girls at the zoo and their moms.  Do you think we look alike?
Here are some pictures of Anna with her preschool friends at the zoo.
Brittana and Henry Alexander went also because this was their one chance to go this year with their mom.
That evening we ate grilled cheese for dinner at Ben's Tball game.
It's a hit!!
I also went to my first Book Club of the year!  I only made it halfway through the book but it was a great time talking with all my friends and even getting to know some of them better as we discussed The Happiness Project.
*McKenna did some sleep walking a couple times this week.  Mostly, she just comes upstairs, then can't remember why, and just wants to go back to bed.  She doesn't usually remember doing it in the morning either.

Wednesday I went walking in the morning with Rachael.  We picked up Ben then ran an errand to the DI to find something for Dan for Quest.  As I was back home, packing lunches for after gymnastics, Ben needed something in the upper cupboards and as he jumped up on the counter to get it, his head accidentally hit another open cupboard door.  It started bleeding and freaked us both out a little.  He was mostly embarrassed but ok and he sat out of gymnastics for the day.  Bethany was also showing me a cool trick she learned!
We babysat Henry and Clara Stewart for a little bit in the afternoon.  We had the Dandurands over for baked potato dinner that evening.

Thursday morning Anna had another preschool field trip to the Fire Station.  They do a cute job teaching kids brief fire safety and showing their equipment.  Bethany totally cried when the fire fighter put on his oxygen mask.
After the field trip, Anna played at Beck's house for a bit while Bethany and I played outside.
I sorted my own clothes that afternoon, then we had Bennet, Desi, and baby Will come over to play.  I started listening to my new book club book (What Alice Forgot) and really liked it!
Anna and McKenna played at the Alexander's that aftenoon.  McKenna ended up staying with them for dinner while I took the girls to Ben's Tball game.  After the game, we went for a walk, just me and the kids.  The goat and rooster came right up to the fence!
Friday Dan went biking, the later I went walking with Rachael.  My visiting teacher's came over.  Then we went to ladies lunch where Ben made that block creation.  After lunch, Anna went to play at Mila Cundick's house.  Then Ben's friend from school, Sam Burton came to play.  We picked up McKenna from school and Anna wouldn't wake up after falling asleep during carpool.
Later, Taggart Lewis and Brinley Aune came over for a play date in the sprinklers and some otter pops!
That night Dan performed his second civil marriage since being called as Bishop.  Thankfully it was a home ceremony two doors down the street!

Saturday morning we were out the door by 8:45 to drive to the Aspen Meadows girls campsite with the Steve and Erica Day.  It's a beautiful campsite and we're excited for it!  The kids had fun exploring too!
After returning the keys to campsite, we had to quickly buy a present for McKenna to go to Camille Roth's ice skating BD party.
I took Anna and went to a bridal shower for Dan's cousin's fiance.

Dan took Ben and Bethany grocery shopping.  We all got back home around 4.  Kids had showers.  Dan and Ben got haircuts.  I vacuumed a little.  Then my sister babysat while we went on my BD date with Dan's parents.  We ate at a Thai food place, then shopping at City Creek.  It was a crazy busy Saturday but I felt so spoiled and loved being with so many family that day!
Sunday was Mother's Day!  I'm so thankful for all I inherited from my mom!  My love and talent for music, her kindness, and her love for others!  I admire my mom's creativity and ability to look at anything and think, "I could make that!"  Love you mom!  And this is could all be said of my wonderful MIL, Sylvia! So generous, supportive and loving. Great examples of motherhood, for sure! Glad I was able to Skype with my mom just before dinner time.

My own children gave me darling cards, love notes, and even played very nicely together, in this fort behind the couch, most of the morning before church!
This was the best family picture we could get.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these people who helped me become the only thing I ever dreamed about becoming... a Mother!

Dan's dad also gave all his daughters-in-law roses.  The white ones representing my 4 children, and the red ones representing all I do for them and teach them.  Dan knows me well getting me my favorite nut (peanut M&Ms)!  I love all my cards and just look at those darling bookmarks from McKenna and Ben!
Dan was also able to drive to and from church WITH us!  He had no appointments!  And instead of saying, "This is nice"  he kept saying, "This is weird."  ;)  Haha.  He's just a little out of practice.

After church, we had the Webster family BD and Mother's Day dinner.  The men in the family did a great job making and meal!  The only other May BDs are cute Lola and Mila!
Cute little girlies!
