Aug. '18- Week 2- Dan and Ben to CO, Giant Slip N Slide, Swimming at Gunnerson's, Extended Webster Gathering, Back to School, Dinner with Becca.

Wednesday I watered the lawn by hand for a bit because our sprinklers weren't working properly.  McKenna went and played at the Roth's.  I did more uniform laundry and had to clean up two pee accidents (Bethany and Alice).  Camille and McKenna then played over here for a bit and I did more uniform prep for Anna.
Earlier that morning, Dan and Ben (along with the Jakes and their boys) left for a fun and quick trip to Colorado for a Rockies game!
Their Uber ride was in a Tesla with the cool doors that open UP!
They took the boys to the a children's museum.
They had a BLAST!

Wednesday evening, poor Alice tummy was still learning how to digest big girl food, so I was supporting her as she was trying to poop.
Then she enjoyed a tummy tickle.
Wednesday night, the girls and I went early to Dave and Laurie's ward youth activity-- a giant slip n slide!  I was so proud of all the girls being so brave and trying it!
"I did it all myself!"

That night Anna slept in Bethany and McKenna's room for a sleepover.

Thursday Dan and Ben got home around 10, then Dan headed to work.
What Alice will look like with long hair.  :)
Ben played at the Alexander's and we attended back to school night that evening.

Friday we went swimming at the Gunnerson's with Henry and Desi Alexander.  (Brittana had to have emergency surgery on her arm for compartment syndrome.)
They had me take some fun slow-mo videos.

That evening I went to dinner with Mickelle and Becca in SLC.
It was so great to catch up with her!  When I got home, there was a lovely handmade blanket for Alice from Amanda Koldewyn!  She's so kind, thoughtful and talented!
Saturday we watched Charlie Stewart and had a deer walk around in our backyard.  We worked on cleaning and organizing.  Dan took the older three kids to the Bountiful arts festival and grocery shopping.

After lunch we headed up to Mantua for the extended family Webster gathering.
Some more videos of kids going down the slide.

We showered the kids up there then they all fell asleep on the drive home.

Sunday I helped sing "A Child's Prayer" in singing practice for the Primary Program and I introduced that the youth would be singing "Hope of Israel" in Sacrament meeting at the end of Sept.
We had a relaxing afternoon and Jonathan came to hang out and played Scrabble. McKenna came with me once again to stake choir.

Monday we met Anna's kindergarten carpool friends at Bountiful Park (Jamie Atkin-Emi and Janene Wirthlin-Annie).  Then we headed to Wal-Mart for some final back to school shopping.  Alice still needed help and love when trying to poop.  And she thankfully loved the prunes I gave her to help.
We got Keva Juice and Great Harvest bread for lunch.
We chilled in the afternoon and started making paracord ankle bracelets for all the kids.  I also worked on organizing the girls' hair stuff.
That night after nursing Alice (and her not really pooping well for days) she vomited on me, a lot!  I called the on-call doctor to make sure we didn't need to worry and he said we only need to worry in her belly feels hard and if the vomit is green colored.  Thankfully she didn't have either of those symptoms.

Tuesday we ran errands to get some medicine for Alice as well as to the uniform store.  McKenna worked hard to finish her summer reading packet.  That evening we had our special back to school dinner.  We talked about a new theme for the year and Dan gave everyone special father's priesthood blessings.

Aug. '18- Week 1- Alice Rice Cereal, Lagoon Day!, Mantua Swimming with Friends, FHE with Sis. Turley

Wednesday we cleaned up and left camp by 10:30. We unloaded at home, showered, and did lots of laundry! Anna and Bethany felt the need to immediately get fancy.  :)
At dinner we gave Alice rice cereal for the first time!  There was no gagging! And McKenna did her hair like Agnus from Despicable Me.

We also got out the play mat and she loved it!
Thursday was our annual LAGOON day with Dan's dad's work!  We forgot our tickets at home so we got there a little later than we wanted.
I'm so proud of Anna for being so daring and brave this year!  She went on a ton of rides and helped Bethany buckle and get in and out of rides as well.
McKenna and Ben were also so brave and both went on Colossus, and Ben went on Cannibal!
There was also an awesome thunderstorm on the way home!

Friday we watched Henry, Clara, Charlie, and Hazel for a bit.
Alice turned 5 months!
I worked on writing school supply shopping lists.  We did yard work in the evening.

Saturday Dan went rowing. I went to my cousins Marianne's baby shower. Alice had a slight fever. :(  I went to lunch with all the Webster adult girls and the new Black Bear Diner.  Then I took McKenna, Anna, and Bethany for back to school haircuts.
Alice loving the baby in the mirror and it's so funny when she notices there were two moms.
Sunday there was a stake fast for Grandpa.  It was so sweet and powerful at the same to time to hear of people praying for him and his healing! We had Grandma and Adam over for dinner that night (German pancakes) and I took McKenna with me to stake choir practice.

Monday we had a friends swim day at Mantua!
That evening Geri Turley came over for FHE to have a Family History experience with us.  She told us to choose an ancestor we wanted to learn more about and she was do the research for us.  We chose to learn about Else Katherine Andersen Christensen, after whom who we named our Alice Katherine.  It was wonderful to hear about her life story.  She converted to the Gospel when she was around 16, became a governess, migrated to Zion, escaping cholera, married a son in the family she migrated with and nannied for, had 11 children, felt prompted to become a midwife and delivered hundreds of babies!  His son Albert is Dan's great grandpa.  We had Dutch apple pie as a treat since she was from Denmark.

Tuesday Desi and Henry Alexander came to play, we went through uniform stuff, did laundry, had the van's oil changed, and I had book club that night at Kylee's about "Gift of Imperfection" by Brene Brown.  We talked about how to find the balance of accepting who we are but also it's being ok to try to improve ourselves.

July '18- Week 4- Mantua with Webster Family, Bethany and Alice Check Up, Camping Mirror Lake

Sunday Dan gave a combined youth lesson about Grandfather's youth devotional.  Adam and Grandma got some great Alice snuggles.  I was able to get my temple recommend renewed that evening and it's amazing what a wonderful feeling I had just knowing my recommend was current again.  After dinner we played Banana Grams and Surprise Slides.
Monday I french braided all the girls' hair.  I enjoy the practice, but it sure took a long time.  We ended up cancelling a friend Mantua swim day due to lack of attendance.  So instead we went to the Moulton's to let the kids run through the sprinklers, have otter pops, and play on the trampoline.  The McKameys came too.
Tuesday was Pioneer Day! Ben had science camp then we watched the Days of '47 Parade on TV and saw David, Laurie, Emma and Reed, Andrew, and Russ.
We also started packing for Mantua with all the Websters.
Russ McKamey also came and finished the back stairs in the morning as well.  They turned out so nice!
In the evening we went to my Aunt Joan's house for a pot luck gathering with the Thompson side of the family.  We found out my cousin Emma Lee is roommates with AnnaLeah Boren from our ward.
Wednesday we vacuumed, did laundry, cleaned bathrooms and finished packing.  We had lunch on the road and left for Mantua, arriving by 3.  The kids swam for a bit, then we gave them showers and headed to a fun dinner at the American West Heritage Center in Logan.  They had cool displays in the main building, then a quick wagon ride to the dining building.  Unfortunately, Dan's dad wasn't feeling well this night, so he had to stay at Mantua.
We were serenaded while eating!
Then we loaded up our bison encounter.   What made it more memorable was a pretty big storm rolled in a dumped on us for a few minutes.  We joked about how the pioneers probably wouldn't have complained about the rain, but would have welcomed it thankfully on a hot summer day! :)
After the bison we got to pet some goats.
McKenna slept in a tent outside with cousins.
Thursday we had family pictures with Kelly Sansom bright and early!

We got back to the house by 10:30.  People played 9 Square (borrowed from the Wendels), swam, and McKenna went boating.
I took some fun slo-mo videos.  Hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and had s'mores before bed.

Friday Dan went to the temple early in the morning.  McKenna went on a bike ride with Lara, Joe, Katie,  Whitney, and Henry.  After lunch Dan went boating with Ben, Anna, and Bethany.  McKenna and I went swimming and I jumped off the top of the slide!

I even had time to shower and nap on the couch while McKenna did some reading.  We helped Sam and Lara with dinner that night.  Then we played carnival games with tons of prizes provided by Grandma!
After dinner, we celebrated July birthdays including our Bethany!
Saturday was chillin', ranger rides to the store, cleaning, and grandma painting rocks with the kids so they could play tic-tac-to outside with the rocks and chalk.
Cute picture of the Sylvias!
We were home by 4 to unpack, do laundry, shower, grocery shop, and prep for our family camping trip on Monday.

Sunday after church I worked on prepping our camping food.

Monday I took Alice and Bethany for their well checks
Bethany
(I lost her paper so these are not exact.)

Weight: 28.5 lbs

Alice
Height: 24.1 in (1.6 in increase in 2 months) 12%
Weight: 11.3lbs (1.5 lb increase in 2 months) Below the chart
Head: 45%

We left for camping around lunch time and as we approached our campsite we quickly realized it was 30 degrees cooler than back home!  We set up camp and then went exploring around the lake and gathered wood.
After dinner another camper (a young dad and his two kids) came to visit and chat for a while.  Sadly, as we were getting the kids ready for bed, Alice had a big throw up. :(  I was a little nervous since she had gotten shots that day at her appointment and had a low fever.  Dan gave her a blessing and I slept in the van with her that night.  Thankfully, after the blessing I felt calm and peaceful after the blessing.  I nursed her at 3am and 6:30am, so I was a tired mama, but all was well.
After breakfast we headed up to hike Bald Mountain!  It was 1.4 miles but it was steep!  The last part was a bit of a scramble so we decided not to go all the way to the top.  Dan was a little disappointed, but I was very proud of what we did do!  It took us about 1 hour to go up and 1 hour to come down. Phew!
We got back to camp and had some lunch then changed into swim stuff to go out on the lake in the Schmutz's kayaks.
I stayed on the beach while Alice slept in my arms for a bit.  That kayak was a beast to carry back to camp, but again, I was proud of myself!
Alice did great sleeping in the pack n play and our red umbrella stroller acted as the entertainment for much of the time.
The kids got to play Cover Your Assets in the trailer before bed.
