Oct.- Week 2- Joe's Baptism, Pumpkin Festival

The day after we got back from our Disneyland trip was Sunday.  Thank heavens for General Conference! :)  We were able to (somewhat) relax and spend time with Anna and her getting used to us again.  She did kind of resent me for a little while (i.e. wouldn't even let me pick her up when I reached for her in her crib after her nap), but after about a day, she warmed back up to me.  That evening, we enjoyed a great Conference Re-cap with the Nelson side of the family and loved hearing many insights and inspiration gained from so many family members.

Monday was spent getting back into our normal routine with McKenna to school in the morning and gymnastics in the evening.  After lunch, while Anna was finishing up, I went outside to sweep our front steps a little and when I came back in I found Anna like this.  Opps!  She was more ready for nap time than I thought. :)
We had our neighbors, the Alexanders, over for a play date.  Cute boys playing dress up.
We also had another niece born to the Stewart family!  Miss Clara Elisabeth!
Ben learned about the letter Ff at preschool.  He also brought home a REAL goldFish.  Luckily we already had a bowl and food.  Our last experience with pet goldfishes only lasted three days.  We hoped for the best with this one and Ben named him Superfish.

This little lady had her 15 month check-up!  And I realized I never posted her 12 months stats.
Anna's 12 Month Stats
Height: 29in (1.6in increase in 3 months) 50th percentile
Weight: 18lbs (1lb 11oz increase in 3 months) 30th percentile
Head: Still 90th percentile

Anna's 15 Month Stats
Height: 29.5in (.5in increase in 3 months) 25th percentile
Weight: 21lbs (2.9lb increase in 3 months) 50th percentile
Head: Still 90th percentile
Got 4 shots
She got this blue bead necklace from one of the families she stayed with while we were at Disneyland and she is not happy when she has to take it off. :)
Such a girlie girl loving her necklace and carrying her "purse."
Here are some things she's done since she turned one:
  • July
  • As soon as she turned one, I had to start weening her to get ready for our trip to Chile. This is always a hard thing for me.
  • She had Hand Foot and Mouth Disease
  • She signed "daddy" and "baby"
  • New tooth (top right molar)
  • Started cruising
  • Totally weaned by 13 months old
  • August
  • Rode the carousel and ferris wheel at at Lagoon
  • Had a tummy bug (that went through the family)
  • Dances to music by nodding head slowly up and down
  • Still hates diaper changes, though books help to distract
  • New tooth (bottom left incisor)
  • On the 30th, started standing on her own
  • Sept.
  • Can sign "cereal"
  • Hiked Ensign Peak in a back pack
  • Rode in the Brigham City Peach Days parade
  • On the 6th, took her FIRST STEPS!
  • New tooth (bottom right incisor)
  • Pushes many things around as a walker: coolers, folding chairs, exercise ball
  • New tooth (bottom right molar)
  • On the 22nd, first hair cut- no more baby mullet!
  • On the 25th, started folding arms for prayers
Wednesday and Thursday I attended an all-day class for some teacher re-license points.  Friday we attended a wedding reception for some friends in our Stake, the Hydes.
Saturday, was a special day!  We attended our nephew, Joseph's baptism!  These are our newest nieces.  One was 7lbs something when she was born, the other was almost 10lbs!  Can you tell which is which?
Grandfather with all the Webster Grandkids.
Everyone in  attendance.  The Webster and Stewart families.

The rest of the afternoon we spent getting out our Halloween decorations and after baths that night we made some popcorn and watched the Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.
Monday, the 13th, we had an adult only Birthday dinner for Dan's dad who turned 60!  Tepanyaki is always delicious!
After dinner, since we already had a babysitter, we went up to Dan's parent's house and participated in a little taste testing for the new hot chocolate bar Ugurt was planning to introduce!
Since Sept. 15th, we've been having some work done on our basement: new trim, new wall texturing, moved one wall, new lights, new paint, new windows...  On Tuesday, they came and put some fresh lacquer on our cabinets and the fumes were SO strong we had to leave and go spend the afternoon/night at Dan's parents' house.  The kids always love the little kids' coloring table.
This week was also Fall Break!  Thursday I scrubbed grout in our hall bathroom.  Sounds like fun, huh?  Then Friday, we took cousin Whitney with us to Bountiful Park to play for a bit.  It was beautiful weather and Anna FINALLY liked the swing!
Then we headed to the Gateway for Dan's work Pumpkin Festival.
Working on their masterpieces.  I don't have an up-close picture of it, but Ben's was so cute. He said he wanted to paint his like a super hero.  He immediately painted one side of the pumpkin all red and then told me that was his cape.  Well done, bud! :)
Finished products!
FantasyCon also came.  They brought snakes and tarantulas for the kids to pet. There was this "mermaid" posing for pictures and giving out "mermaid tears" (little clear stones).
Whitney's dad met us there and enjoyed holding the snakes.
And the tarantula.
Dan and his boss, Mike.
Dan even got interviewed by local KSL and Fox news stations.
The SLC Fire Dept came too.

That Anna Dayle is super cute sleeping and with her blue necklace on! I would not be caught dead holding a tarantula! And having an adult date out would be super fun!
