I am thankful...

For this sweet girl! She's been so fun to hang out with all day! I love her!
And for this sweet guy! I WISH I could spend all day with him too (but someone has to get a paycheck)! He's such an awesome Dad. I love him!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What are you thankful for?

In other news, I went with the Webster girls to see Twilight last week. Loved it! Totally awesome! What more can I say? McKenna did quite well too for her first movie experience.
Also, I went to visit school the other day to show McKenna off to my coworkers and to my first grade students. They were so fascinated by her! They were so cute with their comments and observations. My favorite comment was from a boy who has a 10 month old sister that's totally bald. He said, "McKenna has more hair than my sister!"

Since I've been gone on maternity leave, my long-term substitute had each of my students make a quilt square and had one of the moms piece it together. Another mom brought in a quilting rack and the kids helped tie it. It was such a thoughtful thing to do! I will cherish this quilt more than McKenna will for sure. But she was nice enough to pose with it. :)

Newborn shots!

Two weeks ago my mom and I took McKenna to be photographed as a newborn so we can always remember what she looks like this young. Check her out! They turned out great! She's such a babe!
Melissa is such an AMAZING photographer! Book her NOW while you can!

Do I do anything else?

So this may be shocking to some of you but I don't really do much during the day (other than watch, feed, change, and play with my little girl). She sure is entertaining to me though! It's quite the accomplishment if I can shower before noon! So I'm posting more pictures and a video mostly for my mom and sister who don't live close and need to see this little one as much as possible before she grows up too fast.
McKenna will be ONE MONTH old tomorrow on the 19th! She's getting pretty good at making eye contact and lifting her head (slightly) when she's on her tummy. Every now and then I can get a little smile out of her. But I'm not sure she's doing it on purpose yet. She's eating about every three hours and still getting the hang of sleeping more than 3 hours at a time... (sigh) It will happen soon though right??
McKenna got a cute new headband (made by one of Dan's co-workers) that matched one of her outfits perfectly! Love the pink and brown polka dots!

A little half smile
An AWESOME chubby cheeks shot!Sweet peaceful sleeping

Cute little "o" face

This video isn't particularly significant. It just shows her cute faces and body wiggling around. Oh yea- she grunts a lot too. Enjoy!

All McKenna- All the time!

Here are a few pictures and a video of our sweet girl --Dan lovingly calls her McBaby.

I think she was just waking up here and stretching.

Snuggle time with Grandma Sibber! I love the cute poses babies sleep in.
Grandpa Thompson loves holding her too!

McKenna has also been getting to know her awesome cousins. Here are her two oldest Webster cousins Emma and Reed.

Cute little half smile

Another cute sleeping pose

We haven't said much about McKenna's spitting up "problems"- mostly because almost ALL babies spit up at some point. However, when McKenna spits up, she sometimes has a difficult time getting it all the way out and kind of chokes on it. Anyway, because of this, the doctor perscribed some baby Zantac for her. So here's a video of her taking that medicine. She pretty much hates it because it tastes like Listerine. Super cute faces though! We love her SO much!

Almost a smile and a CUTE yawn. Pretty much anything she does is CUTE!

Pumpkin Walk

So, let me start off my saying how much I love my job. For those of you who don't know, I am a foster/adoptive family recruiter for the Utah Foster Care Foundation. In addition to meeting with families and getting them started with the process, my job has me finding ways to get the message out about the need for more foster/adoptive families.

I was looking for events that we could be a part of, and I discovered the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. Individuals, families, and groups assemble scenes using pumpkins, squash, etc according to this year's theme "Calling All Heroes". Since out foster parents are heroes, I thought this would be a great opportunity.

And so, after many hours of assembling the bodies...
...convincing others to paint the pumpkin faces...

...we assembled our scene titled "Our foster parents are 'Incredible'!"

The extra couple of kids are supposed to be foster children. It turns out that they had around 40,000 people come to this event, which is a great event! We're already planning on coming back next year.

Late Halloween

So we got TWO adorable newborn halloween costumes at one of the baby showers for McKenna. We couldn't decide which one she should wear. So when we went around visiting family Halloween evening, we took BOTH costumes and changed her halfway through the night. I can't wait until next year when we can actually take her trick-or-treating!

Here's our sweet little pumpkin!! (Thanks Mickelle for the costume)

Here she is as the cutest kitty cat you've ever seen! (Thanks Sibber for this costume)
In other news... I love that this little girl gets so tuckered out after nursing. It makes for great snuggle time. Boy do I look just a little bit sleep deprived-or what?? Yikes!

I also love this little girl's awake time. Her big open eyes are beautiful!! Here she is in Dad's lap.

Also, I'd like to give a shout out to McKenna's AWESOME GRANDPARENTS!! They will be such great examples to our little girl as she grows up.
