July 2020- Week 3- Bethany's 5th Birthday, Camping with Moultons and Pugsleys, Webster July BDs, First Day with RV

Wednesday was Bethany's 5th birthday!  We started the day with breakfast in bed for her!  Since she saw us do that for Dan, she wanted it as well.  :)  After lunch we had a small outdoor party for her.  She invited cousins Clara and Amelia (Hailey couldn't come because of a cold), and friends Brooklyn Moulton, Hallie Allred, and Arlee Aird.  We painted rocks, had a dance party, did the slip n slide, ran through sprinklers, had ice cream, and opened presents.  Such a fun party!  After we cleaned up, Bethany and Anna played with all her new toys and I chilled!  We had pasta salad for dinner and had baths and Bethany got phone calls from family members.  Then we played games as a family.  Emma stopped by to return Dan's crutches.  After kids were in bed, Dan and I watched more "Last Man on Earth." I tried to get in the routine of icing and stretching my feet like the doctor ordered.

Thursday I went walking with Rachael.  McKenna had voice and the kids had their last day of Summer camps.  We had school lunch again and another Zoom meeting with the missionaries.  McKenna finished reading the Harry Potter series and she was sad to be done but LOVED it!  I picked up groceries and had my call with Jonathan then we started packing for camping.  Ben and Anna played with the Alexanders.  After dinner, we did yard work even though it was super hot!  We had to get it done since we'd be gone for the weekend and then heading to Bryce Canyon for a few days.  I listened to my book club book and then also listened to the RS zoom meeting where Kim Ulmer taught.  After kids were in bed, I collaged phone pictures and Dan prepped his orange and chocolate cake mix camping dessert.

Friday we spent the morning prepping for camping with the Moultons and Pugsleys.  We left around 1pm and arrived to the campsite by 3.  We camped up in Heber on the Moulton's family property. We got things set up and just hung out until dinner time.  We had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner.  The kids got glow sticks and played hide and seek.  Dan cooked his orange cakes for dessert and we played Mafia around the campfire.  This was Alice's first time sleeping in the tent trailer with us and she was so tired she was the first one asleep!
Saturday I got up at 7 am and was shocked that no one in my family was awake yet.  I went on a three mile walk with Amy and Sarah and we saw a bull moose!  We had breakfast sandwiches and the kids had a great time making mud pies and adding wild flowers to them.  The kids also rode their bikes a lot down the road that was the entrance to the property.  We took a little hike down to a stream for the kids to play in.  We had tacos for lunch and then just hung out and visited.  The kids also shot BBguns.  Dave Moulton's parents and his older brother's family came up to work on clearing a hiking trail they made.  We started cleaning up camp around 3pm and we left by 4:30.  We stopped for dinner and got all cleaned up when we got home.   Bethany and Alice were up late due to them napping late in the car on the way home.
Sunday we had our normal home sacrament meeting, folded laundry, and watched Relative Race.  Mickelle came by and gave Bethany a new camera for her BD!  We started packing for our Bryce Canyon trip.  We had Webster family dinner at Dave and Laurie's that night and celebrated July BDs.
Monday we used the morning to pack and food prep and around 11:45 Dan left to pick up our RV from Access RV.  He took McKenna and Ben with him and I fed the three little girls lunch.  We were delayed in bringing the RV home because the back up camera wasn't working and there was a battery issue.  Brynn and Swa and kids came by so they could check out the RV, but unfortunately never saw it because of the delay.  By the time we finally got it here and loaded everything up, we left by 3:30pm (about 2 hours after we wanted to).
We made a quick stop in Scipio to buy milk and see my grandparents graves.  We even saw some Thompson pickles on my great uncle's grave.  I listened to my book a lot.  We drove south through the center of the state on some roads we had never been on.  We passed Butch Cassidy's childhood home and the little resort town next to the "Big Rock Candy Mountain."  Because of our late departure, I ended up heating up our dinner of rice a roni and zucchini as we were driving down the road, which only made me slightly car sick.  The kids watched "Harry Potter 3" and played Skyjo.  Once we arrived in Bryce City, we tried one campground and it was closed.  Thankfully, only 10 mins back down the road, we found another and were able to park for free for the night.  We were on a little bit of a slant, but it was fine since we were tired and needed to get as much rest as we could before the next day of hiking!
