June '17- Week 1- Last Day of School, Movie Night, Gymnastic Shows, Activity Days, Pink Eye

Thursday I went for a 2 mile run.  In the afternoon I introduced the kids to the movie "Baby's Day Out."  It's similar to Home Alone in that the bad guys get out smarted and beat up.  The kids loved it!  I also worked on my UEN class and showed the kids our "home videos" of all their concerts and performances lately.

Friday was the kids' last day of school!  Here are their comparison pictures of the first and last days of school.  They've certainly grown! :(
Here's McKenna with her instructor Mrs. Sylva.  Something went wrong when taking a picture with her teacher Mrs. Sonntag, so we sadly don't have one of her.
With her friend ________.
After lunch we met McKenna at Hatch Park along with some school friends (Brynn, Alex, Camille, Savannah, and Hyrum).  They played and had popsicles (organized by Melissa Roth).  And here's Ben with his good friend Bennett who is moving to Maryland this Summer. :(
McKenna then went to play at McKinley Ulmer's house.  We tidied up the basement and got ready to have friends over for pizza and a movie!  We watched Baby's Day Out then let the kids run around outside for a bit.  A fun way to kick off Summer!
Unfortunately Anna was having a bit of an upset tummy that night and had some #2 accidents.
McKenna went to the Roth's for an outdoor movie after everyone went home.

Saturday I ran 3 miles and Mickelle babysat while we went to Ward Temple Morning.  We were home by lunch and in time to get McKenna ready for her dance pictures.
We also did grocery shopping and went swimming at Winegar's till 6.  So fun and so grateful to be with family for the evening.  And Bethany kept putting her face in the water and wasn't mad about it.  We got Taco Time for dinner then got the kids in bed and worked on church stuff.

Sunday we had a wonderful Fast and Testimony meeting!  A lot was said about the importance of going to Quest.  That evening I made breakfast casseroles and we had Mickelle, Adam, and Dan's parents over for dinner.  Afterwards, we got the itch to rearrange our family room furniture.  We decided on this layout and have really liked it.  We raised the clock and also got rid of the glass top coffee table.

Monday I ran 2 miles and had a little meeting with the kids about how we want our Summer to run smoothly.  I worked on sorting the kids school papers and Makayla Cardall came over and did some jobs around the house to earn money for her car repairs.  McKenna had piano then McKenna, Ben, and Anna all played at the Alexander's.
That evening Ben and Anna had Gymnastic demonstrations!  I've never seen Anna so confident and brave before.  Guess she really liked having an audience.

Ben's turn!

Tada!  Getting their ribbons.  Ben decided to dab.
Thanks to my sister and Dan's parents for coming to support!
Dan wasn't feeling very well after that and Bethany was coming down with pink eye, so they went home while I took the other three to a swim night at the Farmington city pool with McKenna's dance studio.

Tuesday was Grandma's BD!  She was so nice to take Ben and Anna to see Kung Fu Panda 3.
Poor Bethany's eye was a little Quasimodo esque, so we stayed home.
McKenna went to a Stake Activity Days activity from 9-12.  She had a blast!  It was a Wizard of Oz theme with different stations.  The lion station taught the girls to have courage.  The scarecrow station talked about the importance of knowledge.  The tin man station talked about the importance of love.  And the Dorothy station talked about how we want to do all we can to return HOME to our Heavenly Father.  Totally made me cry just thinking about it!
While most of the kids were gone I did some dusting and listened to my book club book.  Dan went to lunch with one of his former college roommates Scott McIntyre and had a great time!  We were supposed to have Scott's whole family over for dinner, but with our pink eye going around we thought we'd better not.  McKenna had dance in the afternoon and I worked some more on the kids' school papers and vacuumed the van.  Right around dinner time Anna started not feeling well.  She ended up having diarrhea and threw up twice.  Thankfully that was it for the night.  Once kids were in bed, I gave Dan a haircut.

With rearranging the bookshelf, this family picture of mine is more visible and Bethany loves to point out the familiar faces.  Especially Aunt Pickle.
Wednesday I ran 2.5 miles and weeded a little while Dan mowed the lawn.  Anna slept in and was moving slow for most of the day.  Dan also left for the high adventure with the priests quorum down to Zion's National Park.  I photographed the kids school papers and Jonathan came over to help me with some computer stuff.  That night during my family conference call, Bethany was having some sleep issues and I had to have her cry off and on for about an hour.  I also finished Dan's Father's Day gift and listened to my book some more.
