McKenna helped do most of the planning for her 5th birthday party. She wanted princess decorations and princess games, but she also invited some boys from her preschool class. So I tried to make the games and favors kind of gender neutral.
We played "Pass the wand" which was just like hot potato.
Again, Ben loved being one of the big kids.
When the music stopped and it landed on them, they were "out" but they got to pick a wand to take home.
Then we played "Pin the jewel on the crown."
The two "Bens" at the party. Our Ben was glued to his buddy (as you may have noticed from the pictures)!
Then we played a memory game. She had on a crown, earrings, necklace, bracelet, and ring. The kids closed their eyes, I took one thing away, and they had to name what was missing.
I just love McKenna's posing in these two pictures.
Presents
Cupcakes and ice cream!
Cheesers...
Thankfully the weather was nice enough to do a pinata outside.
The whole gang!
Later that evening we did family presents.
We skyped with far away family to show off all her cool stuff!
Then, she requested Panda express for her birthday dinner. My siblings came along too.
She was one happy girl at the end of the day!
Here's what I posted on Instagram about her: "She's such a light in my life! Most days it seems like she's 5 going on 13, but she's still so sweet and innocent. She's an amazing enthusiastic big sister! I'm so excited to see what's in store in her future. I love you the most McKenna Jean! xoxo"
