December- Nutcracker and Nelson Family Party

He just came and put his arm around me while I was nursing. Sometimes he's such a sweet little boy :)
Fun new toy for Anna.  She doesn't quite get the jumping motion, but she likes to be upright and work some new muscles.

We had a little family night where we invited Dan's parents over for dinner and gingerbread houses!  It's always fun to have them over for some "one-on-one" time.
Dan's parents also treated the girls to Ballet West's Nutcracker!  McKenna loved it!  I tried to explain the storyline to her and she followed it well.  She only got bored at the very end during the Pas De Deux (which I find kind of lengthy as well). :)

If you go to any event in downtown SLC with Dan's family, you're almost always guaranteed to go to Ugurt after!
At the Nelson family Christmas party, McKenna was asked to play the part of Mary for the Nativity.  Her cousin Joseph played Joseph! :) She was quite nervous at first; worried people would laugh at her if she messed up.  I assured her we only laugh because kids are so dang cute and that there was no way she could "mess up" her part.  Again, I sewed a "dress" out of a pillow case, used some fancy ribbon for a belt, and used our baby blessing crocheted blanket as her shawl.

Asking if there's room in the Inn
She was excited to hold a real baby, played by a 2 month old baby girl-- similar to my BABY McKenna when she played baby Jesus.

Angels and shepherds filling in
Joseph had to hold the baby when Mary's arms got tired.

Check out that Whitney hip pop :) And I am sure that is the way it worked in Bethlehem too... When Mary got tired, Joseph held baby Jesus :) Good job Kenna!
