July- Week 1- Independence Day

A new funny scrunch face Anna made.
And that virus I mentioned earlier where Ben had a fever, it was the beginnings of Hand, Foot, and Mouth!  This was a wicked one too.  Ben certainly had it the worst of all three of our children.  His fever lasted a full two days, he got sores outside of his mouth and back of his throat, and a slight rash on hands and feet.  About two weeks later his hands and feet started to peel, and now, a full month later, you can see he's losing some fingernails because of it too.  He doesn't complain too much, though.
Anna had a fever for one day and got the sores pretty bad on her face, and then on her legs and arms.  She especially had it bad on her skin where she had a bandaid from her 1 year vaccinations.
McKenna only had a fever for a day and half.  But thankfully never got any sores.  So glad to be done with it now!
July 3, we went to Dan's parents to watch the Eaglewood Golf Course Firework show.
Ben fell asleep 5 minutes before they started.
Bright flash.
 Tried a STAR hair-do for the 4th!
We went to Dan's mom's house in the morning to help fill water balloons for the Nelson Family Party later that day.
The Nelson Family party at Midway was wonderful as always!
Beginning with the bike parade!  McKenna wasn't too thrilled.  She still gets nervous about riding her bike.  We need to give her more practice.

Surrey rides!
 Bean Bag toss
 Face painting
 Cute cousins!
Water balloon volleyball
Dan and I unfortunately missed this group picture, but a one point someone counted 144 members of the family present!  Two of Dan's aunts and uncles just returned home as mission presidents so it was an extra special reunion!
After Midway, we briefly stopped by my Aunt Joan's house to say hi and bye.  We stayed to see a few cul-de-sac fireworks.  Anna first real firework experience.  She didn't seem scared at all.  Again, so unlike her sister at this age.  McKenna hated them as a baby!
We had to hurry home so Dan could set up the tent in the daylight for a little front yard camping (our backyard is too steep).
Don't they look well rested?  ;)  They watched the beginning of Frozen on the iPad while they waited for all the fireworks to die down, then fell asleep rather quickly.
Just a cute bum-in-the-air sleeping picture.

Love the picture of you and Anna looking at each other and smiling in the pic collage. Looks like lots of fun! So glad your kids could go camping!

There's more about hand, foot, and mouth to come, though, right? Or is that just Jonathan's story?
