CA Vacation part 4- Zoo, Eureka, and Sunset

Wednesday (Sept. 2nd)
Sequoia Zoo!  When we planned our vacationing with my family at the coast, we just happened to plan to go to the zoo on Wednesday.  We were then lucky enough to find out it was $1 Wednesday!  Awesome!  So here's another photo dump.  For the record, McKenna was much less scared of these animals than at the fair petting zoo (in a previous post).  I think it was because we kept our distance... most of the time. :)
Monkeys

Black Bear
Can't remember what this guy is called.
Intently looking at the ...
Winking Owl.
Turtles

However, she loved the fake horse
Tractor
If any of you know me very well, you know this is the only way I can stomach/handle/tolerate McKenna being near anything "spider."
I can handle this too, I guess.
Funny goat just chillin'.
She was actually OK to pet this guy.  Sort of.

Later that day, we went to downtown Eureka--right on the water.  Beautiful ocean air!

Looking up at my family from the dock.

McKenna on the compass.  Which way to go?
Cute Cousins!
The beautiful Victorian architecture of downtown Eureka.
Even later that day, we went to Samoa Sanddunes to see the sunset.

McKenna loved it when daddy would chase the waves! (note: cute, excited drool coming out the right side of her mouth)

After the kids were in bed at the hotel, we would bring our baby monitors up to my parent's room and do big kid stuff, like play Settlers of Catan and eat junk food!  Justin won of course.  He pretty much wins every game we play.  :)
