Zoo and Dan's Birthday!

Way back at the end of June, I took the kids to the Hogle Zoo for free (thanks to an awesome day pass Dan's dad bought for some family members to use) with Dan's sister Sarah Jane and her kiddos.

While the kids took their naps after the zoo, I decorated the house and prepared Dan's presents (King sized Reeses, some fireworks, and some new shirts).  When he got home from work we sang to him and popped some little firework poppers! 

Then we enjoyed some outside play time together as a family.  It was a lovely evening!

This was the balloon McKenna chose for Dan.  I showed her all the boy ones first: Cars, Batman, Spiderman.  Then I asked her which one she thought dad would like best?  She quickly pointed to Rapunzel. :)  And she was right, daddy loved it!
