Oct. 2021- Week 3- Fall Break- Aquarium, Pumpkin Walk, McKenna's 13th BD Party, Hanging out in Layton, Blacksmith Ice Cream, Refugee Donations

Oct.15th- Friday: Dan and Ben left a little early to pick up pumpkins for the Foster Care event. We all got Covid tested and were negative thankfully! Sadly, we found out Bishop Moulton has Covid. Went to the Living Planet Aquarium from 10:30 to 12:30 with my parents and Mickelle. It was so fun! Dan and Ben helped unload pumpkins at Dan’s work then ran errands. Brittana came over. I helped Dan dust the home office and redecorate the shelves a bit. I took McKenna and Anna to the dollar store for party supplies. Henry came over, Ben and he played the switch. Dan and I played games with the girls. After kids were in bed, I did party prep with McKenna and worked more on office.

Oct. 16th- Saturday: We left at 9am to go to the Logan Pumpkin Walk. We met my parents there. It was sunny with highs in the 40*s.  We saw the McKameys there. We had Chick Fil A for lunch then made a stop at Gossner for treats. We picked up groceries in Ogden and got home at 4. I ran to Smith’s with McKenna for a few last minute things. We head to west building to decorate and set up for the party. At 5:30, the guests arrive. The first thing the girls did was take a quiz about McKenna. We went over the answers then ate pizza. We went over the ruled for the bubble balls and they played in them from 6:30-7:15. We ate ice cream cake and opened presents. Then they did glow stick people and danced and played murder in the dark. We cleaned up and headed home at 10:15. Tandi Lefler stayed and was a huge help!  So grateful for her! Dan came home early with the younger 4 and watched some of the Utah football game.

PARTY!

Oct. 17th- Sunday: We had a normal day at church. Afterwards, Dan helped give someone a blessing.  He and I ate lunch on the road down to Lehi to return the inflatable ball suits. The kids ate, went on a walk, then played. Once we got home, we packed up and left for my parents’s and arrived in time for the conference call. Mickelle gave McKenna her BD present, which was a giant squashmallow! Nelly the Narwhal. We also gave my mom her BD present (Ben did a great job editing the video!) and the kids did two crafts with grandma. They painted puzzle pieces Fall colors and glued them on a tree. They also used beads and pipe cleaners to make corn. We had soup for dinner, finished the crafts, and left at 7:30 to go home.

Oct. 18th- Monday: After the kids left for school, we took Dan's parents' Audi to Burt Brothers and got air in the van tires.  After breakfast, I started laundry, went through Alice’s clothes, then mopped the new hardwood in the office and hallway and entryway. I got a cute class picture from Anna's teacher, Ms. Vasher. I took Alice to preschool, showered, rested, then drove carpool. I patched some of the kids' pants. The kids worked on homework and their restoration artwork for Primary. McKenna babysat at the Johnson's. Dan and Ben worked on putting furniture back in the office.  We had freezer stuff for dinner and Dan took McKenna to rehearsal. The Johnson kids came over here to play/be babysat. I went to the Reudter‘s to practice some sign language for a song for the primary program. We folded laundry then decorated for McKenna‘s birthday.

Oct. 19th- Tuesday: McKenna turned 13!! Dan drove all the kids, including McKenna, to school due to the cold and rain and it being her birthday! Alice and I ate then went to the Rec Center for my Power Tone class. Once we got home, a guy from Allman‘s Carpet came and measured Ben’s room and the piano room. Then I made zucchini bread as a thank you for Swa and Tandi helping with McKenna's BD party. I picked up the kids. Our water was turned off for a few hours, and once it was back on, it sputtered for a long time. Alice fell asleep in a super comfy way with a book under her chin. Bethany had dance. I made pasta salad, then Ben took some and left for rehearsal.  After dinner we went to Blacksmith Ice Cream for McKenna's BD. Once we got home, McKenna had some phone calls and then we opened her cards and watched Studio C and put kids to bed. I worked on my primary lesson and Dan worked on his ministering calling. I can't believe I have a teenager!! We love our McKenna so much!

Oct. 20th- Wednesday: After kids left for school, I looked over voice stuff. I ate with McKenna and Alice. We found out we got Winnipeg Temple dedication tickets and we cried tears of joy!  After my voice lesson, I started to notice my voice improving already. After lunch, Alice went to preschool. We dropped off Dan’s car and picked up the Audi from Burt Bros. Ben and Anna had piano. Bethany did homework and I napped. After carpool, Anna had gymnastics and Bethany had music which I attended with her. McKenna worked on and finished a little interior design diorama! McKenna also had rehearsal. We went to R&R BBQ for dinner for LPA's fundraiser. After kids were in bed, Dan helped me work on typing the kids’ routines to prep for our trip.

Oct. 21st- Thursday: After kids left for school, I exercised and ran 2 miles. During breakfast, I get caught up on Marco Polos and worked on a grocery order. After lunch, I read and played with Alice, then napped. After the kids got home, we went to the health department for flu shots. Anna went to dance for the last day. We picked up Dan’s car and then Dan pulled the trailer out of the garage with all the refugee donations. Alice rode around on her bike and Ben left for rehearsal. McKenna and Boof walked down to McKenna’s piano lesson. We had dinner, but Dan delivering the donations took longer than expected and I had to miss a stake Primary training. Dan got home at 8, and had a meeting with the missionaries.
