Tuesday we had record heat! It got up to 106*! We went to Dr. Blake Maxfield for braces consultations for McKenna, Ben, and Anna. They all got ice cream too! Anna had Descendants and McKenna and Ben had Seussical. Mabel and Desi came over to play afterwards. Bethany had dance. Ayla Hamblin came to babysit while Dan and I went to the temple with McKenna, Whitney, Katie, Brittana, and Mindy Smith and her two boys. The whole time I was there I felt super smiley and happy! Afterwards, McKenna and I went to Dseret Book and Olive Garden with the Fashion Cookies and their moms. Dan had Bishop stuff. Ben went to an escape room birthday party for Nate Johnsen. Dan did some chalk art stuff for work that night.
Wednesday we went to see a $1.50 movie, Trolls-World Tour, and took Audrey Day with us. When the movie was over, we picked up Caleb and brought him back to our house to play for a while to help Erica get some packing done. Sadly, I found out one of our water heaters had a bad valve on it and had been leaking for a while. Some of the water had gone down the floor drain in the utility room, but some of it also went back into Bethany and Alice's closet. It was so warm, humid, wet, and smelly in there! We had lunch, and then a plumber came and was able to replace the valve and adjust the overall water pressure of the house so that hopefully it won't happen again. I took McKenna and Ben to rehearsal and picked up Anna and Desi from their Descendants camp. I also picked up Caleb and Audrey's little sister, Clara so Erica could keep working. We all played in the basement while a clean-up crew came and pulled the carpet pad and baseboards and put fans down to start the drying process. The Day kids left around 4:45 and I picked up McKenna and Ben. After dinner, Dan had church stuff and McKenna had a late night with Brittana. We put Alice and Bethany to sleep on the floor in McKenna and Anna's room while their room was in disarray.
Thursday we hiked Wild Rose trail with Brynn and 3 of her kids, and Adam and Mia. The kids had piano lessons and the basement repair guys came to check moisture levels. We also watched the 2 Moulton girls while Sarah did some packing at their house. Anna had her camp and McKenna had rehearsal. Dan and Ben went to the Pugsley's cabin to hang out for the Deacon's and Teacher's camp. They had a blast on the rope bridge and canoe, as well as eating the shrimp boil prepared by Steven Day! We had a chill afternoon at home. Anna had dance and McKenna had water games for young women's.
Friday I went walking with Rachael, the kids played with playdoh, and we packed lunches and went swimming at the Winegar's. Anna had her final day of Descendants camp and had a little performance. She did awesome, had fun, and was so brave! So proud of her! After more swimming, the basement guy came again to check on things. We had the 3 Day kids here again for a couple hours after dinner. After kids were in bed, I worked on a grocery order and we watched the Jazz game. Dan was home late from the first day of the Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival.
Saturday was Anna and Bethany's dance recital! My parents and Mickelle were able to come! Mickelle hung out for a bit in the afternoon while her car was at Burt Brothers. Ben went to a birthday party for Melek at Boondocks. The basement was checked on again. We had to pick up Ben because we needed to drop off the gift we forgot to send with him. Then we headed to the Gateway to see the Chalk Art. It was so hot we all got a little wet in the fountains. After kids were in bed I worked on primary stuff and Dan watched a show to unwind after a busy couple days out in the heat!
Sunday was Father's Day! Dan didn't give himself any meetings, so we were early for church with his help! I had a fun singing time planned that day. After lunch, we gave Dan his gifts, then we napped. We worked on Anna's baptism program and had a yummy steak and potatoes dinner for Father's Day. Later, we went to Layton to visit my dad and have creamies.
Monday the started their week of Woods Cross City summer camps. Ben did STEM, and Anna and Bethany did an Arts and Crafts Camp. I enjoyed my time at the park talking with Emily Hartvigsen, Sara Stewart, and sometimes Rachael Alexander. The insurance adjuster came to check on the basement. Ben had piano, and Anna went to play and swim at Emi's. Lyla came over to play with McKenna and I got Anna's baptism pictures printed. Later, Hailey and Abby came to play while Lara worked on unpacking grandma and grandpa's house. After dinner, we finally got Ben's Annie's play to work and we watched it as a family!
