1st- Friday: I thought I was subbing in CK Art all day, but he only needed me after lunch. So instead, I helped with the vision screening. I also went to the Jr. High to help in a class during Flex Time. Three or so of the kids were super disrespectful to Mr. S. I did CK Art with a kinder and 1st class cutting paper snowflakes. It was hard for them since their hands were still not quite strong enough to cut the thick folded paper. Anna went home with Claire. McKenna went home to Megan’s to make gingerbread houses. Ben ended up walking home by himself. I napped a little. Bethany and Alice played in the snow and shoveled some. Alice went to play with Hazel. We took Ben to Crew Winegar's Harry Potter Club. We ate at Cafe Rio with the three girls, then went to a “kids night out” event at Weber State so Dan could help a coworker with the event. The girls had a fun time doing an activity book, eating snacks, and playing some games. We left to pick up Ben (even though the pick up time wasn’t clearly communicated). Dan did great driving in the snow on the way home! We got the girls to bed. McKenna went to the play at WX high school, Percy Jackson.
2nd- Saturday: I got up at 8 and exercised. We ate. I left to pick up groceries. Dan set up for our neighborhood cul de sac party/food drive. We had a great turn out! Too bad it was windy and pretty cold! We took groceries in and I showered. We left for Festival of Tress and met my parents and Mickelle there. Always love seeing the beautiful variety of trees there! We got home and prepped veggies for the Ward Party. It was so fun to visit with so many people we love. Bart did an excellent job with the food as usual! The YW sang and the primary showed a video. Anna and Bethany had a late night at the Moulton’s. McKenna, Adrie, and Bridget went to McKayla’s. We got Alice to bed and I worked on cleaning the kitchen and laundry room. Dan helped. Ben was on the computer.
3rd- Sunday: It was Fast Sunday. I fed Alice and did a little homework with her. I gave her a bath and everyone else had showers. Ben shared his testimony in Sacrament meeting about how the Utes 5th string quarter back won a game by saying he had faith! I came home early with Anna who had a bad head ache. She ate and then rested. I worked on making our early dinner. Ben stayed after to speak at the temple and priesthood preview to welcome in the new deacons. We ate together. I had my call. We took Brecken and Adrie with us to the First Presidency devotional since my parents ended up not being able to come. I definitely had "a moment" walking in and the choir was rehearsing the Hallelujah Chorus! Wow! Just thinking that will be me next year was incredible! Grandfather attended in person and showed a sweet clip of Eli holding baby Enzo. I went to prelude to rehearse after. *My parents attended their Mazda Miata Christmas party the night before. I caught Bethany highlighting her Scriptures during Sacrament Meeting.
4th- Monday: I subbed in Ms. Mortensen's class as her instructor. I did a reading group and then recess duty. I helped in the classroom and then took my lunch break. I did more lunch and recess duty. I finished the day in Ms. Welch’s room. McKenna turned in a huge project she worked on forever in her health class! Dan went to the State Capitol to hear McKenna's Choir sing. Once we got home, I took Bethany to Backstage. I talked with Dan some and tried to nap a little. I took Anna to Gymnastics and Alice to music. I made dinner. Dan brought the van home from the dealership. We had some diagnostics run to fix a few things, but they wouldn't start actual repairs on it until Tuesday. We had dinner and then went with my parents and Mickelle to Christmas in Color drive through light display. We got kids to bed late and then Dan and I worked on buying Christmas stuff. We got to bed way late.
5th- Tuesday: Dan took the girls to school and then we took the van to the dealership. I exercised, ate, and then went outside. I raked and blew leaves and weeded a little from 10:30-1! My back was very tired and sore by the end! But the weather was too nice to pass up. I had lunch then napped. I showered and the kids got home. I started making dinner. Dan had a work event with Entrata. I took Ben and Anna to Backstage. We did McKenna’s hair and makeup for her dress rehearsal. I drove her and Lucy and Lia to Backstage. I ate with the younger 4 at home. Anna had a hard night. We read a few Christmas books before bed. Ben and I played with the Ukulele. Dan got home from working late and sorted the new sweatshirts for his coworkers.
6th- Wednesday: I had no subbing assignment. I hung out in the office and ran errands for the secretaries. I chatted with Ms. Barnes about the Tab Choir. I did some lunch duty and finished the day in Mr. Lee’s social dance class while he was in a meeting. Anna and Bethany had piano. Oakley came to play with Alice. I did some dinner prep and then tried to nap quickly. I picked up the girls from piano. McKenna got home. Bethany left for Backstage. I took McKenna and Ben shopping after Ben’s piano for Jazz shoes and birthday presents for Ben’s friends. Anna had Activity Days and came straight to McKenna’s concert. We ate and then we had McKenna’s choir concert. They sounded great! We came home and the girls had treats. Ben went to his YM’s activity. Dan and I left for a meeting with Pres. Farnes for Dan to get released from the High Council due to me being in the Choir! Always bitter sweet. We got the kids to bed.
7th- Thursday: I subbed in Ms. Stutes’s 2nd grade class. They’re a pretty good class. I’m mostly learning how to handle this boy named Tayson. Once we got home, I got the kids settled and then left for Dan’s work Christmas dinner at Nikki’s restaurant in Draper. We sat by the Boyack’s and Esmeralda and her husband. We went straight from there to the Bon Com holiday party in downtown Salt Lake at a food hall. They had a mentalist there for entertainment! We chatted with Riley Pack and then a girl named Anne Marie Leavitt who is married to one of Dan’s mission friends. Dan’s dad was so nice to drive our kids to all of their activities for the evening. McKenna had her final dress rehearsal! Ben and Anna had Backstage and the Ben went to Caleb’s birthday party (a Nerf Battle) and Anna went to watch Desi in Elf! Bethany and Alice had gymnastics. *We leaned that the Borens had a house fire! :(
