nd- Thursday: Dan started breakfast with the girls. Emmy Johnson came over. I helped Bethany with Pollyanna. I finished getting ready. I helped Alice with her Let’s Play Music. The Jensen kids came over while Lindsay and Jordan worked on unpacking and moving back into their condo which had been fixed from their neighbor's fire. I worked on printing temple names and a grocery order in the basement while the kids played. We had lunch. Emmy left. We hung out more in the basement. Dan worked on packing. I tried to nap. Dan picked up McKenna and Ben. I emailed McKenna’s counselor and finished the groceries. I helped Ben with his course request. The Jensens left. We had leftovers for dinner. McKenna had piano. Anna went to the Jazz game with her Jr. Jazz team. I drove the girls to gymnastics and then went straight to choir school. We had Craig Jessop as a guest teacher for the night!! He told about the history of the choir and amazing stories from his years as the conductor! He told stories about famous guest artists as well. He was so kind to congratulated us for making it into the choir and told us even if we feel inadequate, we're all there for a reason. Linda lectured about sight reading techniques. We did some sight reading and worked on our memorization of Hymn of Praise. I told Dan all about my night when I got home! I was on a spiritual high!
rd- Friday: We slept in. I exercised, ate, and Anna showered before me. My mom came over to do some paper crafts with the girls. I got to tell her all about choir with Craig Jessop the night before. We cried together. It was a sweet moment! Dan and I had a quick lunch date to a near by taco truck (Where’s Aldo?). Claire came over to hang out with Anna. We left around 3 to picked up McKenna and Ben and go to Get Air as a family! We had pizza in the car and then went to the Utes Gymnastics meet. They won by a point and a half and we got to see a perfect 10 floor routine! We got the girls to bed. Dan and Ben lifted. I watched the Leo DiCaprio Romeo and Juliette with McKenna. She said it was weird, but I told her I hoped it would help her understand the play better because she’s currently studying it in school. Ben tried to clear space off of the computer so he could play Fortnite, but it wasn’t working. Dan left for the Western States Cruise!
th- Saturday: I got ready for the day and got the kids started on breakfast. I met Mickelle and Bonnie for brunch at a place in Murray called Prohibition. The food was amazing! We talked for two hours and loved catching up! I took Anna and Kapri to basketball practice, then went and picked up groceries. I listened to my book club book. Once I got everything put away. I helped Bethany with Pollyanna, then started helping Alice with her primary talk. Mickelle called to get a ride to my place while her car was getting worked on at Burt Bros. We talked more and the kids played on her phone. I took McKenna and friends to the DI. They ate at Arctic circle and went to Spencer’s house after. I took Mickelle back to get her car, then came home and had dinner with the kids. The three girls did showers and baths. Alice was a punk at first, then got better. After they were in bed, I worked on my primary lesson for subbing in Anna's class and then went through the rest of Alice’s school papers. Anna shared a bed with me that night.
th- Sunday: we were on time for church. I substituted in Anna’s primary class and taught about the Atonement saving us from sin and death. Alice also gave a talk in primary and was so brave and a good reader. After church, we had lunch and watched our videos. I tried to nap, but couldn’t very well. I took McKenna to Caroline’s house to practice her solo and ensemble song. Alice came with us too. McKenna and Alice went for a walk, then Bethany and Anna went for a walk later. I had my family call. I tried to nap a little. Then I made taco salad for dinner. We ate and the kids packed their lunches and helped with dishes. I cleaned up the kitchen and practiced the piano a little bit. We FaceTimed Dan, then I got the three girls to bed. I worked on piano and my choir music. Ben played with his Kendama in my room. McKenna showered. I got to bed around 10:30.
th- Monday: I subbed as Miss Huggard’s instructor. I did two reading groups and a math group, lunch/recess duty, then I watched two kids who needed to catch up on Lexia. Anna had a field trip to the Symphony. Once we got home we had snacks, I kept the laundry moving, then tried to nap. McKenna went running. I took Anna to gymnastics and Alice to Music. I made grilled cheese for dinner, picked up Anna, then we ate. The kids folded laundry and I cleaned up the kitchen. I took Anna to her basketball game, which sadly, they lost. But Anna touched the ball more and more. Once Anna was in bed, I practiced music. Ben worked on Kendama tricks and showered and lifted weights. Day 1 of the week days without Dan, CHECK!
th- Tuesday: I subbed in Ms. Huggard’s class again as her instructor. Recess duty was much more cold today because it snowed overnight. After school, I was thankful we didn’t have any evening activities! McKenna, Caroline, and Maddie auditioned for solo and ensemble. They sang and arrangement of “Come Thou Fount” and “If You Could Hie to Kolob.” I also listened to Bethany tell me about some of her friend drama. Thankfully, she’s just an observer and tries to help them solve their problems. I got dinner in the oven and helped Alice with music. We ate and gathered garbage and packed lunches. Anna showered. We were able to FaceTime Dan. I practiced music once everyone was in bed. Ben did some coding on the computer.
th- Wednesday: I had no subbing assignment. I helped in Ms. G’s class briefly. She was running late due to dropping her cat off at the vet. I hung out in the office, then I went to Ms. Saddler’s room because she was having stomach problems. Once she felt better, I went back to the office and then did lunch duty. I ate my own lunch, then I worked on getting documentation for my teaching license renewal points. The girls had piano once we got home. I picked up a prescription and then got some chicken marinading. Alice and I picked up the girls and then the Jr. High kids. Ben went to Taggart’s after his piano lesson. I napped and then worked on our Nelson News article. I made dinner. We ate and then the girls did showers and McKenna and Ben went to their youth activity, which was a service scavenger hunt. We talked to dad and then got the girls to bed. It was Bethany’s turn to sleep in my bed with me. I started practicing music in the piano room, but then Ben started having a weird eye problem. His peripheral vision in his right eye was pretty much gone, he said. He said it was so blurry it was like things wasn’t there. I called Bart Hamblin to see if he thought we should go to emergency care, but we decided it wasn’t anything too crazy. Ben lifted and showered and his eye seemed better. *We think it was maybe his first ocular migraine! McKenna mentioned that's what hers were like. I talked with McKenna about lunch for the next day. I was either going to take her to lunch, or her and Ben.
th- Thursday- Leap Day! I drove the girls to school, then exercised. I got caught up on Marco Polo, and then ate and got dressed. I checked McKenna out from school and took her to lunch at Zupas. It was a lovely date! I came home and napped and emailed school counselors and worked a little bit on the grocery order. I changed and went to the temple for an initiatory session. I got home about the same time as the kids and heard about their day. Alice had a Lexia party where they put Mentos candy in Coke and watched the soda shoot up high! I worked more on the grocery order. I had leftovers for dinner and packed lunches with Alice and Bethany. The older three ate on their own. I took the girls to gymnastics and then I went to Choir School. We did some sight reading and then walked over to the Conference Center. We got to tour behind the organ and then play a song on it! I played the right hand only of “As I Search the Holy Scriptures.” I got home late and talked with McKenna and Ben. It was very windy!
