Oct. 16th- Monday: I subbed for Ms. Voss’s instructor, Ms. Dennis. I ran her reading group, did recess duties, and then helped in the class by walking around and keeping kids on task. Once we got home, I took Bethany to rehearsal. I helped Alice do homework. I sorted laundry and took Anna to gymnastics and Alice to music. I practiced for my audition and then picked up Anna. We had leftovers for dinner. McKenna had rehearsal. The kids packed lunches and folded laundry. I picked up McKenna and then got kids to bed. I folded my laundry and Dan got home late from his work event in Logan. He moved the travel trailer.
Oct. 17th- Tuesday: I went on Bethany’s field trip with her to the Natural History Museum. It was fun and the kids had to work hard to fill out answers to questions in a packet. I was able to nap once I got home and work on sight singing a little bit. I took Ben and Anna to rehearsal, then helped Alice with homework. I started on dinner. I ate with Alice and Bethany. Dan worked late again. McKenna exercised and then ate a little after us. I went with McKenna to a sour dough bread making class with Sarah Moulton. She made it seem pretty doable but I'm still intimidated. Dan and I talked with Ben and McKenna once we got home and tried to do some weekend planning. Dan gave me a blessing for my audition!
Oct. 18th- Wednesday: I subbed in Kindergarten, Ms. Huggard’s class. They were a very good class! Highlights included we had a fire drill, did computers, and had an emotional regulation lesson from the counselor Ms. Wood. I was grateful the day wasn’t too straining on my still healing voice. We brought home Kaysen and Walker for Alice to play with. Bethany brought home three real life guppies from her class auction. I practiced for my audition. Anna and Bethany had piano. I also made dinner before Dan drove me to my Tabernacle Choir in-person audition with Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy! I also had an interview with President Leavitt. They really stressed the time commitment and asked where I live, which I think helped my case a little. I forgot the words to my hymn and started over, but Mack said “very nice” at the end. The sight singing was tough! Mack was helpful and almost coached me through it all. The more I thought about how things went in the audition as the evening went on, the more I tried to prepare myself mentally for a “not this time” answer. We ate and I went to a YW presidency meeting. Anna and Bethany had activity days (after Bethany’s rehearsal). McKenna also went to Backstage. The YW delivered fliers for the Truck or Treat. Dan and Ben worked on Ben’s Invisible Man costume. I worked on decorating for McKenna’s birthday.
Oct. 19th- McKenna’s 15th birthday! I woke McKenna up to go running with me. I had a quick meeting with the kids about what needed to get done for the day and for Fall break! I made McKenna waffles. The girls worked on cleaning out their backpacks. Anna also sorted our school papers drawer. Ben and Bethany showered. I got ready for the day and took the three girls to the pet store to get stuff for the guppies. We made pasta salad for lunch. Desi came over to hang out. I took McKenna to get a manicure and pick out her birthday treat. Ellie came over to play and Ben and Alice went to Winegar’s. I took a small nap. We started sorting school papers. Dan got home and we left for dinner at China platter. We came home and did presents and donuts and ice cream. The kids watched “Just Add Magic.” We got the three girls to bed and then watched “A Quiet Place” in the theater room. I did a quick grocery order.
Oct. 20th- I showered and ate with the kids. Then I packed us a lunch. We went to the Zoo and Luke came with us. The weather was perfect and the animals were out and active! We got home around 2:45. Ben mowed the lawn. The rest of us packed for Mantua. We left at 3:45 and grandma rode up with us. We picked up grandpa and went to the Logan Pumpkin Walk. It was very nice weather, though it got a little chilly at the end. We went to dinner at a Mexican place and the food was great! We got to Mantua and got the kids to bed. Ben and McKenna and the grown ups played Five Crowns.
Oct. 21st- Saturday: We got up at 7:30 to see the sheep run! About 2500 sheep come down the mountains for the winter and go right down Mantua Main Street. It was awesome! We had breakfast once we got home. We finished our game of Five Crowns. McKenna gave a great presentation about why she should get the Gabb Phone Plus. Dan and Ben played Golden Eye. I napped. Grandma played Farkle with Anna and Bethany. McKenna studied for her drivers permit test. I got dressed and then we all went to Pizza Hut in Brigham City for lunch. We cleaned up and packed up once we got back to Mantua. We left at 3 and picked up groceries on the way home. Ben finished mowing the lawn and Dan took the mower in for repairs. The girls and I unpacked and went through school papers more. Bethany took pictures of her 2nd grade school stuff. We had cereal for dinner. Luke and Harper Voehl came over to hang out. Anna went to Desi’s. McKenna babysat for the Mudrow’s then hung out with Adrie. Dan packed for his work retreat to St. George. He also hung some things on the walls for me and cleaned toilets and vacuumed. Dan also gave himself a haircut
