th- Thursday: I worked a half day due to parent/teacher conferences. I lead a reading group. I went to Ms. Dutchers class while she had an IEP. The kids were doing a parts of speech worksheet that was a Mad Libs. I snacked a little and helped move food to the teacher’s lounge again. I hurried and ate once we got home, then we headed back to the school for the three girls’ parent/teacher conferences. All of the girls are doing so well in school and have had growth and improvements since the beginning of the year testing. We’re so thankful they don’t have academic struggles! I picked up the Jr. High kids. I took a nap. I started dinner then took McKenna to piano. We ate when she got home, then I took the two little girls to gymnastics. I did dishes once we got home, then I attended Choir School through Zoom. We talked about memorization techniques and vibrato and dynamics. Dan had a late work event at the Governor’s mansion. It was a private concert from Jon Schmidt for all Utah Foster Care donors. McKenna helped the kids clean the basement and got them to bed while I was unavailable.
th- Friday: I had no subbing assignment and it was a half day as well. I spent some time in Ms. Young’s class while she had a meeting. I did a little lunch duty. I worked a little on relicensing stuff. I gave 4th and 5th grade teacher’s a bathroom break if they needed it. I also directed traffic during carline. I danced to the music playing outside and my kids kept telling me to stop because they were embarrassed. I took my girls to play at the Winegar’s. I dropped off Amazon returns. I took a nap. McKenna and Ben got home. Ben and Taggart played video games. McKenna got the basement ready for hosting Adrie’s party on Saturday. I finished the student data privacy course for relicensing. I picked up the three girls and then took McKenna to Caroline’s. We had leftovers for dinner. Desi came over to hang out. I worked on my music some but my voice was still not great. I cleaned the fish bowl and the fish lived!! We got the two little girls to bed. Dan got home from another cool work event which was a super car unveiling. He got to ride in a Blackhawk helicopter with one of the Diesel brothers (Insta famous). Dan picked up McKenna and Caroline's.
th- Saturday: Dan and I attended the temple for sealings. I felt the Spirit as I was a proxy for a daughter. I love thinking about helping families become an ETERNAL family! Dan took Ben to film club and picked up groceries. I helped McKenna prep to host Adrie’s party. I took Bethany and Alice to their make-up gymnastics class, then I got gas in the van. I helped Dan put groceries away, then I picked up the girls and he picked up Ben. They shoveled the driveway. I got the girls going on lunch. I took Anna and Capri to basketball practice. Dan took McKenna to kidnap Adrie for her surprise party. It was fun to watch the surprise when they arrived! I made egg salad for Ben and cleaned up a little. I worked on music and napped. Alice and Bethany played in their bedrooms and then Dan played games with them. The three girls worked on their Valentines. Dan and I went to dinner with MaryLyn and Jeramie West to Texas Roadhouse. We got the kids to bed. McKenna went to a basketball game with Adrie’s family. She and I talked when she got home.
th- Sunday: Everyone fasted except Alice. We had a lovely testimony meeting where quite a few of the ward leadership bore their testimonies. The Kossin women taught in RS. The three girls had lunch when we got home. Dan prepped fruit. We watched our BoM videos. We napped. I had my family call when we woke up. Alice had some stomach pain that was unusual. We thought maybe she was constipated, but she pooped fine at Grandma’s house. We watched the Super Bowl and celebrated February birthdays with the Websters. The game went into overtime, so I took Bethany and Alice home a little early to get them to bed at a decent time. Dan and McKenna watched some ski videos in preparation for their ski day. At dinner, I had Emma play and record my alto part for a tricky choir song so I could practice more.
th- Monday: I subbed in Mati’s reading group. I also subbed in Ms. Kelsey’s reading and math groups with a recess duty in between. I also did some lunch duty. Alice was a little clingy to me. I went to the Jr. high next and subbed in Ms. Belz’s class for 3rd and 5th period. I had lunch during 4th. Once we got home, I changed the laundry and napped a little. Dan and McKenna got home from skiing!! Dan said she did well and it was very similar to teaching me. She didn’t like being out of control or going too fast. :) I’m grateful they both came home unharmed and had a fun day! They had beautiful weather too. Dan took Anna to gymnastics and Alice to music. I made dinner. McKenna and I went to the sophomore open house at Woods Cross High. It was helpful and got McKenna thinking about all her classes for next year. We met the rest of the family at Anna’s basketball game. They were down most of the game and made a comeback to win by two points! We folded laundry and got the girls to bed. Thankfully Alice’s stomach was feeling better, but Bethany started to feel sick. Ben and I watched some of the Jazz game on TV. Dan took a work call. McKenna tidied up the kitchen, which I was very grateful for!
th- Tuesday: I had the day off. I drove jr high kids. I exercised. After I ate, I cleaned, a lot! I showered then spent time on my phone and napped. I had a late lunch. I did a load of laundry. I worked on my music. Taggart came home with Ben. I talked with the three girls. I practiced more music. I made Taco soup for dinner. McKenna had a babysitting gig cancel because Grey was sick. We ate together. Anna went to Activity Days and decorated cakes. I took Dan's parents' Audie to Chorale rehearsal because Dan’s car was with him downtown at dinner with a guy from the Bridlewood ward. It was good to be back at choir after being sick. It felt very fast paced and my voice did better than I expected. I recorded a lot on my phone to help me practice later. Dan met me at his parents’ house after to return the car. We talked with them for a bit about their new calling! We tidied up the kitchen and went to bed.
th- Wednesday: Valentine's Day! I did the girls' hair fancy. After the girls left for school, I ate, watched the news, and got ready for the day. I went to help in Alice’s class for their Valentine’s party. I read books and taught a couple songs to the kids. I talked with Ms. Young afterwards about her Friday sub plans. I came home and chilled and napped. I had lunch, then Dan came home early so I could go back to the school for the teacher social “cookies and karaoke.” It was lots of fun and I attempted to sing Spice Girls “Wannabe” but my voice was still not great. I got home around 3:25 and drove Ben to piano. I looked at the girls’ valentines they received. I picked up Ben and started making the kids’ Valentine’s dinner: pasta salad, chocolate strawberries, and PDQ. Dan and I sat and talked with the kid while they ate, then we headed to the DCC for our Valentine’s dinner with all of Dan’s siblings. Unfortunately, Dan’s dad had a fainting episode earlier in the day due to dehydration, and he and grandma couldn’t make it. We stopped by and visited with them after.
