Oct. 1st- Sunday: We got to sleep in a little. We had French toast for breakfast, then got ready for the day. My dad came to pick up Alice at about 11 so they could babysit her while the rest of us went to the PM session in person at the Conference Center. We drove the Winegar’s there. We had a sandwich tailgate lunch with all the available Websters in the parking garage. (Jake and Abril were waiting patiently for a call from the hospital to go in and have their baby!) It was Bethany’s first time at the Conference Center for Gen. Conf. Grandfather could not attended in person due to back pain from a fall he had right after his birthday. Thankfully, he was able to record his message on Friday and it was shown! Such a great talk and reminder for us to keep an eternal perspective and “Think Celestial!” We came home and changed and went to my parents’ so we could celebrate my mom’s birthday! She made a Keto lasagna and rolls and green beans and brownies and chicken fingers. We brought a salad and blueberries. It was a feast! The kids played piano pieces for her on her newly tuned piano, and we gave her a water bottle with love notes and pictures in it. We had treats and came home by 8:30. We got the kids to bed and I finished writing notes on our General Conference board. I also talked a little with McKenna about Patriarchal blessings. Dan worked on a letter for work.
Oct. 2nd- Monday: I subbed in kindergarten as an instructor. So I did two reading groups and a math group. (I almost subbed in Jr. High math, but wasn’t needed there). It rained a ton so we had indoor recess. Once we got home, Bethany had rehearsal. Anna had gymnastics and Alice had Let’s Play Music. Ben went to Luke’s house. McKenna worked on homework and I got a tiny little rest on the couch. While I made dinner, Alice and Bethany worked on homework. After we ate, Ben got home and babysat the girls while I took McKenna to her short beauty and the beast rehearsal and then one last for fun scrimmage with her rec volleyball team. Ben did a good job getting the girls to bed since Dan was out of town for work to Price and Vernal. McKenna and I got home around 9:45 and I did dishes and got ready for bed. I talked with Dan and McKenna studied for her math retake.
Oct. 3rd- Tuesday: I exercised after the kids left for school. I ate, Instagrammed, then showered. I kept the laundry going and listened to Don’t Miss This, Marco Polos, and my book club book. I worked on mending some clothes. I tried to practice voice a little but it was still not 100% back from being sick. I called Venmo customer service to try to work out an issue. I ate lunch. I napped and worked on picture collages. The kids got home from school and I found out I made it to Phase 3 of the Tabernacle choir audition!! I totally cried with McKenna right there with me! I called Dan and then helped Alice with homework. I took Ben and Anna to Shrek. I folded laundry and helped Alice more. Bethany worked on her diorama. McKenna exercised. We had dinner and I picked up Ben and Anna. We cleaned up the dishes and collected garbage. I got the kids to bed and folded my own laundry. I blogged a little and talked with Dan. *In the middle of the night that night, I heard a fox "barking" and got a video and pictures of it!
Oct. 4th- Wednesday: I subbed at the Jr. High. Ms. Belz (Lang. Arts and Spanish). The first three periods were fine. The last period of the day was a class with three boys that were pretty rough. Anna and Bethany went to piano. I helped Alice with her homework and then napped. I woke up to texts about a lockdown and reports of a gun at South Davis. Not fun! McKenna and Ben did not respond to my texts because Ben forgot his phone and McKenna was too scared the light from her phone would give away their hiding place. Thankfully, I was hearing updates from Swa and Rachael Alexander. Rachael was getting texts from Brittana and Henry saying it was a fake/false report . I picked up the usual kids at the apartment meeting spot once they were released. McKenna was a little shaky. Ben seemed fine. They both said they said a prayer in the moment and it helped them feel better. McKenna also said she had songs come to her mind and the lyrics brought her comfort. The saddest part for me was that McKenna didn’t even want to pull her phone out and text me because she thought the light would give away their location to a shooter. So sad and scary and dumb! The rumor was that a kid either had a fake gun, or holding a cell phone like a gun with an app that was making gun noises and ran away from a teacher and a student. I'm so thankful it wasn't worse than it was. Ben had piano. Bethany went to Frozen rehearsal. Desi came over to play. I took McKenna with me to get gas and pick up Dan from returning his rental car from his work trip. We had dinner. Anna and McKenna left for Activity Days and rehearsal. I went to YW where we had a General Conference recap. Charley Alexander made a jeopardy game which was awesome. Ben went to a church museum. I picked up McKenna and Lia and Lucy from rehearsal and we talked more about the lock down. I helped Ben with Shrek lines and McKenna talked and studied with Dan.
Oct. 5th- Thursday: After the kids and Dan left, I watched the news, ate, and sent an email inviting friends to the kids’ plays. I went walking with Rachael. I showered and then paid some medical bills. I listened to my book on the way to Murray to have lunch with Dan. We went to Noodles & Co. and also Chick Fil A. I drove straight to my voice lesson. We worked on choosing a hymn and sight reading. I went straight to Wal Mart to get some medicine and things for my throat. I got home and the kids were home from school. Bethany told me about the visit the third grade had from Scales and Tails! She said she touched and alligator! I got chicken marinating and drove Ben and Anna to rehearsal. I helped Alice with homework and Bethany finished her diorama. McKenna had piano and I made dinner. After we ate, I worked on a grocery order and Dan picked up Ben and Anna and drove McKenna, Katie, and Adrie to and from Lagoon so they could ride the new ride Primordial. We got the kids to bed.
Oct. 6th- Friday: I subbed in Ms. Welch’s class. It went pretty well for most of the day. There were only a few kids with issues. I took the girls up to Clearfield to the health department to meet Dan and the other two kids for our flu and Covid shots. We went to my parents afterwards. We hung out and had pizza. I dropped McKenna off at Farmington Station on the way home. Ben had Taggart over. We got the girls to bed and then watched a video my dad sent me. Then we watched “Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.” McKenna got home around 10:50 and we talked for a bit. Everyone’s arms hurt.
Oct. 7th- Saturday: I had a rough night with my sore arm! I also had frenzied mind about Swa driving our van the next morning for a YW activity because of the gear shifter issue. She came at 7 and I showed her how to do it. Then I blogged till everyone woke up. We ate together. Ben, McKenna, and I all felt pretty rough (due to our shots). We all took some Ibuprofen and felt much better! I cleaned the kitchen a little. Dan took Ben to Backstage, picked up groceries, then took Ben to film club. Dan tried to mow the lawn but the mower wouldn’t start. So he took it into the shop with the snow blower for a tuneup. The three girls and I weeded. McKenna cleaned her bathroom. We had lunch and then Dan and the three little girls and I went for a quick hike up Mueller Park. The leaves were great! We picked up Ben from Luke’s. Then we picked up McKenna and made a quick visit to Jake and Abril’s to see baby Enzo. McKenna went with Caroline to a Lantern Festival, then to Spencer’s house. Ben and Anna went to see Curiouser with the Voehl family. Anna dressed up as a "pig in a blanket" but turns out no one else was dressed up. Dan and I took Bethany and Alice to Chick Fil A for dinner, then gave them baths and got them to bed. They also put in a little performance for us playing school! Dan and I finally paid and finalized the bill for Alpine cleaning and restoration that fixed our basement flood back in May! We had been waiting for an itemized bill with some adjustments that had been made.
