Dec. '23- Week 2- Bethany Rome Day, Grand America Windows and Pizza at Pugsley's, Governor's Mansion, Gymnastics Demo, Nutcracks for Lola, McKenna Beauty and the Beast, Bridlewood Party, Bethany Recital, LPA Concert, Teacher and YW Parties, McK Anna Check ups, Ben's Orchestra
th- Friday: I volunteered in Bethany’s class for their Rome Day. (*Anna also had a Science Day.) I was there from 10-2. They made paper chariots and had a feast. They made sugar cube colosseums and catapults out of spoons and popsicle sticks. They also had a battle with pompoms. I picked up the van at the shop that was finally done! I tried to nap a little. Once the kids got home from school, we headed Downtown to see the holiday windows at the Grand America. The Alexanders and Moultons joined us. Then we all went to the Pugsley’s for a pizza night! McKenna and Bridget went to our house for a homework party. Dan and I left early and went to the Governor’s Mansion for another holiday party. It was such a beautiful home! We got the kids to bed around 10.
th- Saturday: Quite a busy day! Ben and I had Prelude to Christmas rehearsal. We went home for lunch, then went to the three girls' gymnastics demonstration. They all did so well! McKenna had her first show for Beauty and the Beast and we're thankful for all those who could attend! Anna and I went to the Nutcracker to see Lola perform as a Boofoon. We attended the Bridlewood Ward Christmas party then rushed off to see Bethany's recital at Backstage. They performed 2 group numbers and there were some solos and piano students mixed in there as well. Before bed, we watched Mickey's Christmas Carol. Dan and I then started the Muppet one after kids were in bed. We both fell asleep of course. Ben hung out at Luke’s. McKenna did more homework.
th- Sunday: I showered and then got dinner in the crock pot. We all ate breakfast together. McKenna and I went to practice our song for Christmas Eve with Rachael at her house. We finished getting ready. The talks in Sacrament meeting were all about how music strengthens our testimonies of Jesus Christ! Brandie taught in YW. We had snacks and set up to record our song for the Nelson Nativity. Dan had a meeting. I had my family call. We ate without him and then recorded our song. Ben and I left for Prelude call time. We performed in the Prelude to Christmas program! It went very well and Ben did great in the orchestra for the first time. This was probably my last time since I'll be in the Tabernacle Choir next year. We had ice cream at Brynn’s after. Dan made popcorn for me. We calendared after McKenna and Ben went to bed.
th- Monday: I subbed in Mrs. Butler’s 4th grade class. She was out sick, so there weren’t really any sub plans. The 4th grade team helped me a lot, which I was grateful for. Dan drove us to and from school because his car needed to be taken in. I took Bethany to Backstage and Anna to gymnastics. I prepped dinner and then attended Let’s Play Music with Alice (stations day). We ate, folded laundry, and I cleaned the kitchen some. McKenna had another Beauty and the Beast performance. After the girls were in bed, Dan and I sorted some Christmas things.
th- Tuesday: I exercised after everyone left, ate, and then showered. I caught up on Marco Polos and scrolled social media. I napped. I worked on cleaning out emails and did some paperwork for McKenna and Anna’s upcoming check-ups. I had lunch and then worked on prepping the 12 days of Christmas and teacher Christmas gifts. The kids got home from school. McKenna had a field trip to Weber State College for exploring different medical professions. I helped Alice with her homework. Bethany went to Activity Days. They made a cute Christmas gift to give to someone. Dan got home in time to take Ben and Anna to Backstage. I made dinner and we went to LPA for the Christmas concert. We ate dinner in the van in between grades. Dan’s parents ate with us. My mom wasn’t feeling well (chest pains), so they weren’t able to come. We got home and prepped for the next day and got the girls to bed. The kids worked on some Lego Ornaments from my mom. I worked on picture collages. Dan worked.
th- Wednesday: I subbed in Ms. Butler’s 4th grade class again (she had Covid). I did a lot more teaching because there’s only one recess and no prep on Wednesdays. Once again, the other 4th grade teachers were very helpful. After school, I stayed after for the teacher lunch and white elephant gift exchange. It was fun and I got a mini waffle iron! I took McKenna and Anna to 5 Below to get some gifts for the YW party and friends. I made dinner, but Kenna and I had to go before it was ready. The YW party was fun! We did a gift exchange and then had ice cream and watched a video. Bethany had Backstage. Ben hung out with Taggart after his piano. Dan ate with the younger 4 and then they did baths and showers. We helped the kids shop for their sibling gift exchange.
th- Thursday: I took Anna and McKenna to their check ups. They’re both healthy and growing!
