Sept. ‘23- Week 1- Phase 1 Choir Audition Results, Mantua Mountain Biking Race, Labor Day Toy Purge, Alice Soccer, McKenna Choir National Anthem, Beth Activity Days,

Sept. 1st- Friday: I subbed in Ms. Enquist’s class. There was one difficult little boy, but an ok class overall. I had lunch in the classroom with Ms. Loose.  It was fun to get to know her better and chat. I found out I made it to phase II of the Tabernacle Choir auditions!!! Once we got home, we finished packing and left for Mantua with the Mountain biking team trailer.  We ate at Reuben’s to celebrate my choir audition! We got to Mantua at 7:15. The kids played and got to have a night swim. We all tried to go to bed a little earlier since we had to get up so early the next day. I got a nice picture of Alice's first hole from losing a tooth!

Sept. 2nd- Saturday: We got up around 5:45am and left at 6:15 for the race. We got the trailer to the pit zone and set up all the tents, tables, and chairs. We ate breakfast there. We watched Truman’s race. Then we watched Ben’s. Ben started at 12th, and only dropped to 17th out of 56 boys! The weather was great and we had Grandma, Grandpa, and Adam and Mia there to support as well. We got back to the house around 11 and several of us took naps.  We had lunch, then the three girls and Dan swam. I sat pool side for a while. Ben and McKenna napped. Some went boating. Grandma played games with the kids upstairs. Dan napped. We left for home by 5. We unpacked and changed, and Dan and I went to Brenn Parker’s reception in Salt Lake. It was lovely to chat with lots of friends! Unfortunately, I felt a cough/cold coming on. :( Adrie and Desi came over to hang out.

Sept. 3rd- Sunday: I woke up around 8:15. Anna came in. My cough/cold wasn’t worse, but still not great. I fed Alice and cleaned up a little. I gave her a bath and then showered. I started to feel a little better and felt fine about going to church. I bore my testimony about the song “Master the Tempest is Raging” and how I felt so strongly that Jesus is in charge and can calm any storm!  I hugged Andrea Gunnerson afterwards who was sitting on the stand because she was playing the organ for the day. She had been crying and was very emotional the whole meeting due to missing her mom who had just passed. I also felt like Sunday School was a great discussion about scriptures in Romans and Chorinthians.  I ate when we got home because I had a bad headache and needed medicine. I had my family call. After we ate dinner, we watched Relative Race and got the kids to bed. Ben and I finished watching “Pure Luck.” Dan took McKenna driving in the church parking lot. I blogged a little.

Sept. 4th- Monday: Labor Day! Dan and I woke up to a big rain storm in the 6 o’clock hour. Anna came in with an upset stomach and just hung out on our chair with a bucket. We ate breakfast and then started on our great toy purge! We sorted and threw stuff away from 9:30 to 4ish with a break for lunch. The kids did very well and no one even cried! We did not get rid of “half” the things like Dan had hoped, but it was definitely a significant amount. McKenna worked on cleaning the girls’ bathroom and Dan's and my sinks. I kept the laundry going. Dan gave himself a haircut. We had ice cream at Spanky’s and then had left overs for dinner. We folded laundry and got the kids to bed. We got to bed earlier than normal as well. *I had no voice due to my cold.

Sept. 5th- Tuesday: After the kids left, I showered, and took Bethany to her eight-year-old check up. She’s healthy and her eyes are fine (she thought she might need glasses).

Bethany STATS

Height: 48.2in (1.7 increase in 1 year) 15th%

Weight: 46lbs (5lb increase in 1 year) 8th%

I took her to school and then went home and changed. I texted a bunch about carpools for the week. I also started watching the “Catching the Killer Nurse” documentary for book club. I had lunch and worked on picture collages and even napped a little. The kids got home and I started dinner. I took Ben and Anna to Shrek and then Alice had an early soccer game. We had dinner once we got home and then got kids to bed. I worked on the blog and Dan worked some. My cold was still not great and my voice was definitely not 100%.

Sept. 6th- Wednesday: I subbed in a Jr high SPED Language Arts class. It was nice because I only had 3 class periods with students. The classes were also small. Unfortunately, their main lesson didn’t work on their computers. It was hard to motivate the students as well. My cold was getting better, but I feel like I was clearing my throat more often. I had some coughing fits and a head ache by the end of the day. Anna and Bethany had piano. I went to South Davis to hear McKenna’s choir sing the National Anthem at the home volleyball game. I took Bethany and Polina to Frozen, picked up Ben from piano, and then took Alice to the Winegar’s to play. We recorded our poem for Grandfather's birthday! I made dinner. Anna played with Desi and Queensley. McKenna ate and went to Beauty and the Beast. The rest of us ate. Ben and I went to the combined YM/YW planning activity. Dan got the girls to bed, then took McKenna to her volleyball game. I went to the Beauty and the Beast parent meeting, then to the volleyball game. Ben worked on putting our videos together at home. I felt like my cold was getting worse. :( Dan helped McKenna study.

Sept. 7th- Thursday: I watched the news and ate breakfast and decided to not go to the temple because I was coughing too much. I also decided I would not visit my mom. My cold felt worse. I started working on a grocery order and other things on my to do list. I had lunch and FaceTimed my mom. I got dressed and headed to Hoopes Vision for an eye follow-up. I was there for an hour and 40 mins, which was too long!  Thankfully, everything was fine with my eyes. I also had to get my eyes dilated which I hate!  As soon as I got home, I took Bethany to Activity Days where they made homemade ice cream in a bag. I drove Dan and the other Webster men to the airport for their guys trip to Texas for the Utah/Baylor game. I took Anna to rehearsal. Ben went to mountain biking. McKenna took Alice to piano with her. I made dinner and we ate. I picked up Anna. We got ready for the next day. McKenna worked a ton on homework. Ben showered and we talked about his weekend plans. I tried to figure out Ben’s possible pre-ride for the Price race.
