Oct. ‘23- Week 2- Sophie's Blessing, McKenna's Choir Concert, Mountain Bike Pictures, Solar Eclipse, Taylor Swift Concert, Jazz Game

Oct. 8th- Sunday: Dan left early for meetings. I showered. Ben had a meeting before church as well, which was a combined youth council meeting with the 6th ward talking about the trunk or treat. We all left at 10 to go to Sophie’s baby blessing!  We had lunch at Sam and Lara’s afterward. The weather was awesome and it was lovely to be with everyone. We got home a little after 2. Dan and I napped. I had my conf. call. Dan had another meeting. We had leftovers for dinner. We played outside a bit. We did our names of Christ and got the kids to bed. Dan took McKenna driving in the church parking lot. I watched the Sound of Music and blogged. I also practiced some sight singing while Dan and McKenna filled out the permit application.

Oct. 9th- Monday: I thought I was going to sub in Ms. Severson’s reading classes, but they moved me to Ms. Enquist’s class, who called out sick. They kids were good, but she has two that are for sure a handful!  I loved seeing Alice multiple times throughout the day!  Bethany went to Frozen rehearsal. I helped Alice with homework. I made egg salad for Ben. After I took Anna to gymnastics, I made dinner. I picked up the A-team. Luke came over to hang out and had dinner with us. McKenna had rehearsal. We got the kids to bed and Dan and I talked some.

Oct. 10th- Tuesday: I went for a run after the kids left. I ate and watched the news. I got laundry going. I showered and listened to Don’t Miss This. I took a nap. Then I worked on a few emails and phone calls. I practiced voice and kept laundry moving. I had lunch. I searched up recipes and sent other texts. I kind of napped again but not as restfully. The kids got home and Ben showed me a game he made in coding. Ben and Anna had Shrek. Alice did awesome doing her homework. McKenna exercised and then showered before getting ready for her Madrigals concert. I made a Mexican tatertot casserole for dinner. We ate when Dan got home. I took McKenna and Megan to their call time and then saved seats. Both sets of grandparents came. I took McKenna to Wendy’s after with friends and waited in the car. Dan got the kids to bed and Ben had a bad headache. I helped McKenna pin her “Taylor Swift” dress and we bought her birthdays gifts.

Oct. 11th- Wednesday: I had no subbing assignment. I ran errands the first little bit, then helped with kinder recess. I took Ms. Higginson’s class to the assembly. Anna's got to sing in the assembly with her grade. Then I helped with lunch recesses. It was fun to see all my girls through out the day. I ate my lunch, helped with one more recess, then sorted lunch cards and looked over stuff for my Thursday subbing assignment. Anna and Beth had piano. I helped Alice with HW, then napped. We had a good thunderstorm. We picked up piano girls, then Jr. High kids, then took Bethany to Backstage. I helped Alice with music HW, then made dinner. Anna and McKenna ate before leaving for Activity Days and Beauty and the Beast. The rest of us ate and Dan took Ben to the Regional Devotional about education with Elder Christofferson and Emily Bell Freeman.  I listened to the devotional on my phone while giving the girls a bath. We got the kids to bed and I worked on buying Beauty and the Beast tickets.

Oct. 12th- Thursday: I subbed for Ms. Severson in the morning and did two reading groups. I had a little break and then was in Ms. Sadler’s 5th grade class. I tried working on a grocery order once we got home, but I took a little nap instead. I took Anna to Shrek. Dan took Ben to mountain biking team pictures. I made dinner. Bethany and Alice had their first day at gymnastics and loved it!  Dan and I got to eat dinner alone. McKenna went to a show at Backstage. I picked up 4 of the kids at 7pm, and Sam came and dropped off the travel trailer. I did some food prep and the kids helped with packing for the Eclipse. Bishop stopped by and I had to pick up McKenna. I finished the grocery order and Dan and Ben worked on packing food in the trailer.

Oct. 13th- Friday: I exercised, ate, showered, got groceries, and went to one last voice lesson before my in-person audition. I picked up the kids early from school. We ate lunch, packed up more and left by 2pm for Fillmore. Mickelle rode with us. The van pulled the travel trailer no problem! We arrived around 4:30ish. We set up the travel trailer...twice because one tube wouldn't reach the hook ups. Parents came over from their hotel. We all ate dinner at the Taco restaurant attached to their hotel. It was late and sooo good!  We went back to the trailer and watched most of Hocus Pocus. We all got to bed by 10:30.

Oct. 14th- Saturday: We woke up around 7:30/8 and made eggs. We all ate and got dressed and sat outside the trailer together and watched the “ring of fire” solar eclipse!! It was cool to see everything kind of go grey and the temperature dropped. Everyone at the campsite also cheered when the ring of fire was complete! Clean up was fast. Traffic on the way home only took one extra hour.  Not too bad. It was fun to have my parents’ walkie talkies for a bit as well and hear about my dad’s pheasant hunting memories. We unloaded the van and trailer when we got home. Ben and Dan took care of the lawn. I unpacked and helped McKenna get ready for the Taylor Swift concert movie! Dan and I showered and went to the Jazz game with Lance Rich.  He invited us to be in his work suit. The food was amazing and the view was great too!  The Jazz won!  I talked with McKenna once Adrie left.  She had such a blast! Anna had a late night with Desi.
