st- Thursday: Today was rough! I woke up feeling miserable! I had an awful headache/neck pain, stuffy and runny nose, coughing, body aches, and major fatigue. I took a Covid test, and it was negative, but it could have been wrong since it was an expired test. Dan made me some food. I ate and took some meds. Then I slept off and on till 11. I got a snack and slept more. I seriously could not stay awake very long! I Instagrammed a ton when I was awake. The kids got home and took care of me so sweetly. Anna brought me some leftover soup. I took more meds and sat up for a bit. Bethany had Activity Days. I laid down and listened to my book some. I even iced my head some. Henry came over for a bit. Dan brought home pizza for dinner. Beth and Alice had gymnastics. McKenna went ice skating for YWs. Ben went to play church basketball. I watched Choir School virtually but couldn’t sing along. I took a picture of myself to document how rough I looked was pretty accurate for how rough I felt! *Everyone took such good care of me today and I was very grateful!
nd- Friday: I woke up with less of a headache, but my neck was still very tight. I was still coughing and had a runny nose. I ate and took some meds. I worked on looking over my teacher license renewal requirements. I napped a little. I read over my choir handouts. I began the teaching license renewal process. I had lunch and actually showered which helped me feel a little better but wiped me out! I worked on picture collages from our Disneyland trip. The kids got home from school. Dan took Ben and Luke to Crew’s for Harry Potter club. Anna went to a store called Indy Clover with Desi. Once she got back, she ate and then left with her school friend Oakley to see the LPA play, School of Rock. McKenna went ice skating with friends, then to Fizz, and then to Carol’s house. Dan and I ate with Bethany and Alice and then we watched Hercules with them in the theater room. Dan’s work got a very large donation of Tru Fru for foster families, and we got some left overs! Once the girls were in bed, we tried to watch a movie called Asteroid, but it was so bad (acting wise). So we switched to “Jungle Cruise.” *Overall I felt quite a bit better than yesterday, but I still need to see lots of improvement before I can return to choir.
rd- Saturday: I woke up feeling about the same as Friday. Not too much improvement. We ate, I logged onto the choir Zoom link for the Saturday rehearsal. They started working on a new piece I didn’t have, so I worked on the blog some while I listened. Dan took Ben to film club, then went to Costco and to pick up groceries. I divided meat and then had lunch. Dan organized the pantry some then took Anna to basketball practice. Dan washed our sheets. Ben went to Luke’s house after film club. McKenna exercised and worked on homework. Bethany and Alice played together. Dan and I napped. Anna went with the Lovelands to the Jr. Jazz party at the Delta Center and had a lot of fun! I worked on the blog more and Alice sat in my room with me and told me stories. She talked so much she said her head hurt. :) Dan did some work in the office. We had dinner and Luke came to hang out here. I gave Alice a bath. Dan left for the adult session of Stake Conference and I watched it at home. Dan's mom spoke and did a great job! The Jensen kids came over to play while their parents attended as well. I just stayed in my room. Once the Jensens left, I got the girls to bed. McKenna got home from babysitting the Mudrow girls. Dan, McKenna, and Ben had ice cream at his parents’ house.
th- Sunday: I got up and took a Covid test and it was negative again! I was still feeling pretty sick though. My voice was still not working, I had a stuffy nose, and lots of coughing. Even with all that, Dan and I went downtown to attend Music and the Spoken Word broadcast. I cried a few times and still can’t believe I get to do that soon! I had to resist the urge to cough while they were recording. We got home and I had a cup of hot apple cider. I tried to nap some but the kids were pretty loud. We watched one of the Book of Mormon videos. A few of us had lunch, then we went to our stake conference at 2pm. The talks were great and focused on the Book of Mormon! Alice even napped on me a little. We got home and the Kumps and Remingtons briefly stopped by for some Tru Fru. I made dinner. Three of the girls played dress up with some of my old dresses! Dan went on a walk with Bethany. After we ate, I cleaned the kitchen some. Bethany showered. We watched another Book of Mormon video and got the girls to bed. Dan worked a little. I worked on freeing up storage on my phone and e-mail.
th- Monday: My cold felt mostly gone, but coughing still really hurt. I thought I was going to start subbing as an instructor and do a reading group, but then they canceled reading. I tried to help the sub in Ms. Alexander’s class find something to fill the reading time with. After that, I headed over to the Jr. High and subbed in Mr. Cogswell’s class. All the classes were pretty good, thankfully! The last period of the day, I was even able to get my ethics test done for relicensing. Alice had her 100th Day of school and Ms. Loose dressed up as Great Grandma Loose who was 100 years old! I napped when we got home. Anna had gymnastics and Alice had music. We had salad wraps for dinner. We folded laundry and I went to book club at Jacquie’s. We discussed the book “Them Before Us: a Children’s Rights Movement.” Anna had basketball but they lost. I talked with Dan once I got home. McKenna and Ben had a rough night. *Alice likes to fall asleep in Bethany's bed when Anna has to stay out late.
th- Tuesday: I got dressed before the kids got up. I took McKenna to her orthodontist appt. We switched cars at Dan’s work. I took her to school. I ate breakfast then called Jonathan for a bit. I napped, got caught up on Marco Polos, then worked on Amazon returns. I had lunch and listened to Don’t Miss This and worked on memorizing The Living Christ. I folded laundry then scrolled. The kids got home and I chatted with them. Henry and Taggart came over. Desi also came over. I napped again, then made dinner. We ate and I attended Chorale virtually since I was still coughing. Dan got the kids to bed and gave Ben a haircut. He also stopped by his parents’ for a bit. My choir friend Amber stopped by to give me some of the new music that had been handed out. We chatted for too long since it was so late. Dan told me about his parents’ new calling (Bountiful Temple President and Matron)!!
th- Wednesday: I did not have a specific subbing assignment. I helped with morning recess duty, which was inside the gym since it was raining all morning. I went to the Jr. High and helped cover the theater class for a bit. I went back to the elementary and helped with lunch duty. I also helped set up the teacher’s meals brought in by the parents for P/T conferences. I also did crossing guard duty at the end of the day. It was snowing pretty good, so it was very slushy. I didn’t slide on the road in the van until our street. Anna and Bethany had piano. I had to talk with Anna first about a girl in her class who is causing drama. I picked up Jr. high girls. I got the potatoes in the oven for dinner. I picked up Ben, then took McKenna and Caroline to Wal-Mart for them to buy stuff for Adrie’s surprise party. I napped a little in the car while I waited for them. I finished making dinner once we got home. We ate and McKenna and Ben had their youth activities. McKenna's activity was to go to the Family History library. They had a funny photo op. Dan gave Alice a bath. I talked more with Anna about the friend situation. I had a bad coughing head ache that Dan helped by massaging my shoulders.
